This hot chocolate recipe is more than a warm-you-up-it's rich and thick decadence in a mug. -Cyndi Nistico, Palm Island, Florida

Ingredients

2/3 cup heavy whipping cream
4 ounces dark chocolate candy bar, chopped
1/2 cup 2% milk
3 tablespoons sugar
1 cinnamon stick (3 inches)
Cinnamon whiskey, optional
Heavy whipping cream, whipped
Additional cinnamon sticks, optional

Steps:

In a small saucepan, heat the first five ingredients over medium heat just until mixture comes to a simmer, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Discard cinnamon stick; if desired, stir in cinnamon whiskey. Pour into mugs; top with whipped cream. Serve with cinnamon sticks if desired.

White chocolate is the ingredient that provides a soft, creamy texture to this hot cocoa mix that's rich and chocolaty...and ready in less than five minutes. Recipe by Jeremy Sauer.

Ingredients

3 cups nonfat dry milk powder
2 cups confectioners' sugar
1 1/2 cups Dutch-processed cocoa powder
1 1/2 cups white chocolate chips
1/4 teaspoon salt

Steps:

Combine ingredients in large bowl.
Working in two batches, pulse ingredients in food processor until chocolate is finely ground.
Store in airtight container for up to 3 months.
Too make hot cocoa, stir 1/3 cup of the mix into 1 cup of hot (not boiling) milk.
Top with whipped cream or mini marshmallows and a little chocolate powder. I sometimes use cinnamon or nutmeg powder, instead. A little brandy and a crackling fire make for a real treat!
