This has been a longtime family favorite. Very easy to make and a great choice for peanut butter lovers. The lighter you press the mixture into the pan, the more tender the candy will be.

½ cup white sugar
½ cup brown sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup peanut butter
6 cups cornflakes cereal
1 cup dry roasted peanuts
1 (11 ounce) package butterscotch chips

Steps:

  • Combine white sugar, brown sugar, and corn syrup in a microwave-safe glass or ceramic bowl and heat until sugars have dissolved, about 1 minute. Stir in peanut butter. Place the cornflakes and peanuts into a large bowl and stir in syrup mixture, mixing well.
  • Spray a 9x13 inch pan with cooking spray. Lightly press the corn flake mixture into the pan. Melt the butterscotch chips in the same microwave-safe glass or ceramic bowl in 30 second intervals, stirring after each melting, for 1 to 3 minutes (depending on your microwave). Do not overheat or butterscotch will scorch. Spread over the cornflake mixture. Allow candy to cool, then cut into 1x2 inch bars.

1-1/2 cups creamy peanut butter
1 cup sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
6 cups cornflakes

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, combine peanut butter, sugar and corn syrup. Cook and stir over medium-low heat until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat; stir in cereal. Spread into a greased 13x9-in. pan; press lightly. Let stand until set, about 1 hour.

Everyone loves crispy cornflake cakes, whatever their age. Get the whole family in the kitchen to make these simple bites

50g butter
100g milk or dark chocolate, broken into chunks
3 tbsp golden syrup
100g cornflakes

Steps:

  • Children: Weigh out the ingredients. Older children can do this by themselves with supervision and little ones can help to pour or spoon ingredients into the weighing scales. Put 50g butter, 100g milk or dark chocolate, broken into chunks and 3 tbsp golden syrup in a saucepan or microwavable bowl. Put 100g cornflakes in another large bowl.
  • Grown ups: Melt the weighed butter, chocolate and golden syrup in the saucepan over a low heat or briefly in the microwave. Allow to cool a little before pouring over the cornflakes.
  • Children: Stir the ingredients together gently using a wooden spoon. Spoon the mixture into 12 cupcake cases arranged on a muffin tray (or baking sheet, if you don't have one). Grown ups will need to do this for younger children or simply arrange on a tray and let the mess happen. Put in the fridge to set.

  • Melt marshmallows and margarine.
  • Add vanilla.
  • Add the rest & stir.
  • Put into a greased 9x13-inch pan.
  • Chill.

4 (2 1/2 ounce) Mars bars, cut into chunks
6 cups corn flakes, crushed

3 -4 tablespoons butter

Steps:

  • Prepare a 13 x 9-inch baking pan.
  • In a large pot (or a large microwave-safe bowl) PARTIALLY melt the margarine on top of stove or in the microwave.
  • Add in Mars Bars pieces, and melt over low heat, stirring constantly until mixture is smooth.
  • Add in the crushed cornflakes; mix until well blended.
  • Press into prepared baking pan.
  • Combine the chocolate chips and butter in microwave, stirring once or twice until smooth and melted.
  • Spread over the top of mixture in pan.

1 cup white corn syrup
1 cup sugar
1 cup peanut butter (your choice creamy or crunchy)
8 cups corn flakes

Steps:

  • In medium saucepan on medium heat, cook first three ingredients until melted. Mixture should be very thin.
  • Pour over cornflakes. Stir til cornflakes are well coated.
  • Spread in a greased 9x13 dish.
  • Cool in fridge til firm, about 10-15 minutes.
  • Tip: I spray my hands with cooking spray and spread the mixture. No sticky hands!

  • Melt butter in a large bowl on high heat in the microwave. Melt in 30 second increments, checking the butter and swirling the bowl after each 30 seconds. Depending on the starting temperature of your butter, it may only take 30 seconds.
  • Stir the marshmallows into the melted butter to coat. Return the bowl to the microwave to melt the marshmallows, again in 30 second increments at high heat. Stir after each 30 seconds. When marshmallows are melted, stir well until butter is completely incorporated into the marshmallow (Note: At first it will look like there is too much butter, and it will appear separated from the marshmallow. Keep stirring vigorously and it will incorporate after30-60 seconds). Stir in vanilla.
  • Fold cornflakes and almonds into the marshmallow mixture. Stir well until uniform. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Press firmly into the dish, but not so firmly as to crush the cornflakes (this will be very sticky! Use the back of a large, oiled spoon or oil the palms of your hands). Let set at room temperature, about 2 hours. Once the mixture has set, cut into squares. Store in an airtight container or bag at room temperature or in the freezer.
