This is a simple recipe and makes a perfect homemade chocolate frosting every time!

Ingredients

3 cups confectioners' sugar
⅔ cup cocoa powder
½ cup butter, softened
7 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

Combine confectioners' sugar, cocoa powder, butter, milk, and vanilla in a large bowl. Mix using an electric mixer until blended and creamy.

Ingredients

2 cups sugar
1 3/4 cups flour
1 cup cocoa
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon salt
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 cup vegetable oil (I prefer EVOO)
2 teaspoons vanilla
1 cup boiling water

Steps:

Heat oven to 350 degrees. Line cupcake pan with cupcake liners. Combine all dry ingredients then slowly add the wet EXCEPT the boiling water. Mix for 2 minutes on high and then add boiling water mixing for about 30 seconds. The batter will be very runny, this is ok. Pour into cupcake liners until about half full. Bake for 30 minutes or until toothpick poked in center comes out clean.
