1 teaspoon hot water
1/2 cup Crisco® Butter Flavor All-Vegetable Shortening or 1/2 stick Crisco® Baking Sticks Butter Flavor All-Vegetable Shortening
3/4 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1 large egg
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups Pillsbury BEST® All Purpose Flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup chocolate, decorator bits

Steps:

  • DISSOLVE instant coffee in hot water. Beat shortening, brown sugar, egg, vanilla and coffee mixture in large bowl with electric mixer until light and fluffy. Mix in flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt.
  • DIVIDE dough into two equal parts. Shape each half into a roll 7-inches long x 1 1/2-inches in diameter. Roll in chocolate decorator bits, pressing lightly. Wrap tightly. Refrigerate at least 2 hours.
  • HEAT oven to 375ºF. Cut rolls into 1/4-inch slices. Place slices 1-inch apart on ungreased baking sheet.
  • BAKE 6 to 8 minutes or until set. Cool on rack.

1/2 cup shortening
1 egg
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup nuts
1 teaspoon clove
3/4 cup coffee

2 cups flour

Steps:

  • Cream shortening and sugar.
  • Add beaten egg.
  • Mix thoroughly.
  • Sift Flour, measure and sift with baking soda, salt, baking powder and spices.
  • Add Alternately with coffee to shortening/sugar mixture.
  • Add raisins, nuts and flavoring.
  • Mix thoroughly.
  • Add additional flour if necessary to make a drop cookie dough.

½ cup dark brown sugar
2 eggs
¼ cup milk
2 tablespoons vanilla extract
4 cups all-purpose flour

¼ teaspoon ground cloves
1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
2 teaspoons salt
2 cups cinnamon chips
1 cup chopped pecans

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease cookie sheets.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter flavored shortening, light brown sugar and dark brown sugar. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the milk and vanilla, blending until the mixture is light and fluffy. Combine the flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, baking soda and salt; stir into the batter until well blended. Mix in cinnamon chips and if using, pecans. 2 ¾ cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 ½ teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 ½ cups white sugar
1 cup butter
2 eggs
½ cup sour cream
½ teaspoon lemon extract
1 tablespoon white sugar
¼ cup chopped walnuts, or to taste
¼ cup raisins, or to taste

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Grease baking sheets.
  • Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and nutmeg together into a bowl.
  • Beat 1 1/2 cups sugar and butter together in a bowl using an electric mixer until smooth and creamy. Beat in eggs, 1 at a time, beating well after each addition; blend in sour cream and lemon extract. Gradually stir flour mixture into creamed butter mixture until dough is combined.
