Citrus Melon Mingle Food

Melon and mint are a natural pairing in this bright and summery Spanish sip that will take the edge off those hot nights.

Number Of Ingredients 7

Ingredients

1/2 honeydew melon
1 pound seedless watermelon, peeled and cut into 1-inch pieces
1 pound cantaloupe, peeled, seeded, and thinly sliced
1 cup fresh mint leaves
1 bottle (750 ml) dry white wine, such as Sauvignon Blanc
1 liter chilled ginger ale
Ice

Steps:

With a large melon baller, scoop flesh from honeydew melon into a pitcher or large bowl. Add watermelon, cantaloupe, mint leaves, and white wine. Stir to combine and refrigerate 1 hour (or up to overnight). To serve, add ginger ale and ice.

Ingredients

1/3 cup sugar
1/3 cup water
1/4 cup lemon juice
3 tablespoons honey
1/2 teaspoon minced serrano pepper
1/4 cup minced fresh mint
1 tablespoon grated lemon zest
4 cups each cubed watermelon, cantaloupe and honeydew

Steps:

In a small saucepan, bring sugar, water, lemon juice, honey and serrano pepper to a boil; cook 3-5 minutes or until slightly thickened. Remove from heat; stir in mint and lemon zest. Cool completely., Strain syrup; discard pepper, mint and lemon zest. In a large bowl, combine melons. Add syrup; gently toss to coat. Refrigerate, covered, at least 2 hours, stirring several times.
