MINT TEA

Mint Tea image

Provided by Aarti Sequeira

Time 20m

Yield 4 servings

Number Of Ingredients 5

4 cups water
3 tablespoons sugar
4 green tea bags
1 (2-inch) piece orange peel
8 sprigs fresh mint

Steps:

  • Bring the water to a boil. When it's boiling, add the sugar and stir until dissolved. Turn off the heat.
  • Drop the tea bags and the orange peel into a teapot. Rip the mint leaves and drop them in too. Pour the water into the teapot, put the lid on, and allow to steep for about 10 minutes.
  • When you're ready to serve, pour into small glasses, using a tea strainer. If you can, try pouring a good few inches from the glass - this cools down the tea, and creates a light foam on top that is traditional. You can also chill this tea and serve over ice on hot days. Refreshing, and great for your digestion!

MINT CINNAMON TEA

Mint Cinnamon Tea image

This is yet another of my lovely tea creations. This blend's flavor reminds me strongly of various mint-flavored chewing gums. It makes a rather pleasant tea hot, but I prefer it chilled. Note: I've listed things in teaspoons because this website won't let me list it in parts, but it's technically in a ratio, so you can make whatever quantity you want.

12 IMPRESSIVE HEALTH BENEFITS OF CINNAMON TEA
12-impressive-health-benefits-of-cinnamon-tea image

From healthline.com
  • Loaded with antioxidants. Cinnamon tea contains lots of antioxidants, which are beneficial compounds that help keep you healthy. Antioxidants fight off oxidation caused by free radicals, which are molecules that damage your cells and contribute to diseases like diabetes, cancer, and heart disease.
  • Lowers inflammation and may improve heart health. Test-tube studies suggest that compounds in cinnamon may reduce markers of inflammation. This may be immensely beneficial, given that inflammation is thought to be at the root of many chronic diseases, including heart disease (6, 7).
  • May help reduce blood sugar. Cinnamon may provide powerful antidiabetic effects by lowering blood sugar levels. This spice appears to act in a manner similar to that of insulin, the hormone responsible for shuttling sugar out of your bloodstream and into your tissues (13, 14).
  • May promote weight loss. Cinnamon tea is often touted to help with weight loss, and several studies have linked cinnamon intake to fat loss or reductions in waist circumference (18).
  • Fights off bacteria and fungi. Cinnamon has some potent antibacterial and antifungal properties. For instance, test-tube research shows that cinnamaldehyde, the main active component in cinnamon, prevents the growth of various bacteria, fungi, and molds (21, 22).
  • May reduce menstrual cramps and other PMS symptoms. Cinnamon tea may help make some menstrual symptoms, such as premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and dysmenorrhea, more bearable.
  • 11. Other potential benefits. Cinnamon tea is touted to offer several additional benefits, including: May fight skin aging. Studies show that cinnamon may promote collagen formation and increase skin elasticity and hydration — all of which may reduce the appearance of aging (28, 29).
