CHRISTMAS FRUIT KABOBS
My chunky fruit skewers are always a hit for brunch, whether served with pastries, quiche or eggs and bacon. They're also excellent appetizers and potluck additions.

Steps:
- Alternately thread fruit onto wooden skewers. Cover and refrigerate until serving. , In a small saucepan over low heat, cook and stir the egg yolk and syrup until a thermometer reads 160° and is thick enough to coat the back of a metal spoon. Remove from the heat; stir in lemon juice. Cool completely. Fold in the whipped cream. Serve with fruit for dipping. Refrigerate any leftovers.

- Thread 1 grape, 1 banana slice, 1 strawberry (narrow end facing up), and 1 marshmallow onto 1 toothpick to resemble the Grinch's head in his red hat. Repeat with remaining grapes, banana slices, strawberries, and marshmallows.

- For the spice mix: Mix together the salt, paprika, cayenne, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, oregano and thyme in a small bowl.
- For the skewers: Pat the cubes of meat dry and sprinkle generously with the spice mix. Place into large plastic resealable bags and allow to sit in the fridge for 2 to 3 hours.
- Prepare a grill for medium-high heat. Thread a chunk of meat on each skewer, followed by a chunk of red pepper, green pepper and onion; repeat this pattern 3 times on each skewer.
- Grill the skewers until medium rare, 4 to 7 minutes.
