I am a chocolate lover and these are sinful! They are always a favorite when I bring them to parties. They taste like a homemade candy bar.

1 (18 ounce) box German chocolate cake mix
2/3 cup evaporated milk
1 (16 ounce) bag caramels
3/4 cup butter, melted
1 (12 ounce) bag chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Mix together cake mix, butter, and 1/3 cup of the evaporated milk.
  • In a greased cake pan, spread half of the batter evenly in the pan and bake at 350 degrees for 6 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, over low heat or in the microwave, melt unwrapped caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk until smooth and creamy, stirring often.
  • Remove half baked crust from oven and sprinkle with chocolate chips.
  • Drizzle caramel over crust.
  • Drop remaining batter on top of crust and bake for 14-17 minutes.
  • Cool slightly and refridgerate to allow caramel to set up.

6 Tbsp. butter or margarine, divided
1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 pkg. (4 oz.) BAKER'S Unsweetened Chocolate, broken into pieces
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 Tbsp. flour
1 cup KRAFT Caramel Bits
1 Tbsp. water
1/2 cup walnut halves

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400°F.
  • Line 8-inch square baking pan with foil, with ends of foil extending over sides of pan. Spray foil lightly with cooking spray; set aside. Melt 2 Tbsp. butter. Mix with graham crumbs and 1 Tbsp. sugar; press onto bottom and 1/2 inch up sides of pan.
  • Microwave chocolate and remaining butter in large microwaveable bowl on HIGH 1 min. or until butter is melted. Stir until chocolate is completely melted. Add 3/4 cup sugar; mix well. Blend in eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour until well blended. Spread half of the chocolate mixture over crust; set aside.
  • Microwave caramel bits and water in small microwaveable bowl on HIGH 2 min. stirring after 1 min. Stir until caramel bits are completely melted and mixture is well blended; pour over chocolate batter on crust. Top with remaining chocolate batter and walnuts. Press walnuts lightly into batter to secure.
  • Bake 15 to 20 min. or until center is set. Cool completely.

1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
2 tsps. vanilla extract
2 cups Pillsbury BEST® All Purpose Flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 cups (12 oz. pkg.) semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 (14 oz.) bag caramels, unwrapped
2 tbsps. cold water

Steps:

  • HEAT oven to 350 degrees F. Spray an 8 x 8-inch pan with flour no-stick cooking spray.
  • COMBINE shortening, granulated sugar, brown sugar, eggs and vanilla in medium bowl; beat at medium speed until blended.
  • COMBINE flour, baking soda and salt in small bowl. Add gradually to shortening mixture at low speed. Beat until well blended. Stir in chocolate chips with spoon. Divide dough in half. Spread half in bottom of prepared pan.
  • COMBINE caramels and water in small saucepan; heat over very low heat. Stir until caramels melt. Spread over dough in pan to within 1/2 inch of edge. Spoon remaining dough over caramel mixture. Spread carefully.
  • BAKE 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown. Loosen from sides of pan with knife. Remove pan to cooling rack to cool completely. Cut into 1 1/2 x 1 1/2-inch bars.

This is an adopted recipe that uses regular pantry ingredients for a simple and rich treat. Very easy and quick to put together, but you need to give them some time out of the oven to firm up.

3/4 cup butter
1 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup quick-cooking oatmeal (your preference for texture) or 1 cup old fashioned oats (your preference for texture)
1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°.
  • Cream butter, sugar and salt in a mixer.
  • Add flour and oatmeal, blend until it holds together.
  • Heat milk in a pan and add chocolate chips.
  • Use low heat and stir until the chips are melted and you have a smooth chocolate cream.
  • Using a 9x13 pan, press 3/4 of the dough mixture in the pan, spreading and patting it to cover the whole surface.
  • Pour chocolate cream over crust.
  • Crumble last bit of dough over the chocolate, creating a third spotty layer.
  • Bake for 30 minutes, until lightly browned.
  • Cool, cut, transfer to a wax paper lined tray and allow to firm up a bit before serving- I leave them for a few hours and they become fudge-like, but they are still yummy if you eat them sooner than that.
  • You can also use a smaller pan- I have used a 10" square and just baked a little longer for a thicker bar, which required a longer cooling time as well.
  • Note: removing to the wax paper is necessary-- if you cool them too long in the pan they are hard to remove, as the bottom crust tends to stick to the pan.

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees (150 degrees C). Grease one 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, white sugar, vanilla, and eggs. Sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt; stir into the egg mixture until well blended. Spread mixture evenly into the prepared baking pan.

1/2 cup evaporated milk
1 cup butter
2 cups sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla

1 1/4 cups Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
3/4 cup unsweetened baking cocoa
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 package (11.5 or 12 oz) semisweet chocolate chunks (2 cups)
1 1/2 cups chopped pecans
1 teaspoon oil

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Grease 13x9-inch pan. In small saucepan, cook caramels and milk over low heat until caramels are melted and smooth, stirring frequently.
  • In medium saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat. Stir in sugar, vanilla and eggs. Stir in flour, cocoa and salt until well blended. Stir in 1 1/2 cups of the chocolate chunks and 1 cup of the pecans. Spoon and spread batter in pan.
  • Gently and evenly drizzle caramel filling over batter to prevent large pockets of caramel and to prevent caramel from reaching bottom of bars. (Caramel can cover entire surface of batter.)
  • Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until set.
  • In small saucepan, melt remaining 1/2 cup chocolate chunks with oil over low heat, stirring until smooth. Drizzle over warm brownies. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup pecans; press in lightly. Cool 20 minutes. Refrigerate 1 hour 30 minutes or until chocolate is set. Cut into squares. If refrigerated longer, let stand at room temperature for 20 minutes before serving.

1 cup sugar
3/4 cup light corn syrup
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate, chopped

Steps:

  • Line a 9x5-in. loaf pan with foil and grease the foil with butter; set aside., In a large heavy saucepan, bring the sugar, corn syrup and chocolate to a boil over medium heat; stir until smooth. Add 1/2 cup cream; cook, stirring constantly, until a candy thermometer reads 234° (soft-ball stage). Add another 1/2 cup cream; return mixture to 234° (soft-ball stage).
