  • Place vanilla bean ice cream in the blender jar.
  • Shake the can of coconut milk for a few times, then open it and pour it into the blender jar.
  • Add in unsweetened shredded coconut and chocolate sauce.
  • Blend for eight to ten seconds until it's combined.
  • Serve immediately.

This is inspired by the super delicious move of dipping french fries in a chocolate shake. Latkes are fried potato pancakes, traditionally eaten on Hanukkah, and just like fries, they're awesome in a chocolate shake.

2 pints chocolate oat milk ice cream (such as Oatly)
1 cup (240 grams) coconut milk
1 teaspoon almond extract (or a splash of amaretto)
Chocolate syrup
Unsweetened coconut flakes, toasted
Rainbow non-pareils
Latkes, recipe follows
2 egg whites
3 cups (10 ounces/290 grams) frozen shredded potato (hash browns), thawed
1/2 teaspoon Kosher salt
Black pepper
Neutral oil for frying
Flaky salt

Steps:

  • Add ice cream, coconut milk, and almond extract (or amaretto) to a blender and puree until smooth and creamy. Pour into glasses and finish with a drizzle of chocolate syrup, toasted coconut, and rainbow non-pareils.
  • To serve, skewer 3 latkes, stack them in each milkshake and serve with a straw for sipping and latkes for dunking into shake.
  • In a medium mixing bowl, whisk the egg whites until they are a little frothy. Add the potato, salt, and pepper and thoroughly mix with a rubber spatula.
  • Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat and add enough oil to coat the bottom of the pan. Place heaping tablespoon-sized blobs of the potato mixture into the oil and fry for 4 to 6 minutes or until the edges begin to darken and they release easily. Flip and fry for an additional 4 to 6 minutes or until golden and crispy. Remove to a rack and sprinkle with flaky salt.

  • In a small skillet, cook and stir coconut over medium-low heat until toasted, 6-8 minutes. Cool completely., Place coconut milk, cream of coconut, 1/4 cup toasted coconut and ice cream in a blender; cover and process until blended., Pour into 4 glasses. This chocolaty milkshake looks so fancy but is super easy to make. It's sure to impress all your friends and is perfect for any chocolate lover. You may use either chocolate syrup or powdered drinking chocolate in this recipe and for a richer milkshake use chocolate ice cream.

500 ml milk
6 tablespoons chocolate syrup (or you can use powdered drinking chocolate)
500 ml vanilla ice cream (approx 4 large scoops)
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
1 tablespoon milk
2 scoops ice cream, to serve (optional)

Steps:

  • Put all the milkshake ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth.
  • For the chocolate swirl melt the chocolate chips in a microwave safe container stirring after every minute until smooth.
  • Stir the milk into the melted chocolate and microwave for about another 30 seconds and then stir again until smooth.
  • To decorate the serving glass, place a tablespoon of the chocolate swirl sauce on the inside rim of a tall glass and then allow it to move down the inside of the glass, spinning the glass to create a swirl effect. Repeat with remaining sauce for both glasses.
  • Pour the milkshake into the glasses and place a scoop of ice cream on top of each one. ENJOY!
