Provided by Betty Crocker Kitchens

Time 6h10m

Yield 16

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 box Betty Crocker™ white angel food cake mix
2 tablespoons unsweetened baking cocoa
1 1/4 cups cold water
3 cups mint chocolate chip ice cream, softened
Chocolate-flavor syrup, if desired

Steps:

  • Move oven rack to lowest position (remove other racks). Heat oven to 350°F. In extra-large glass or metal bowl, beat cake mix, cocoa and water with electric mixer on low speed 30 seconds. Beat on medium speed 1 minute. Pour into ungreased 10-inch angel food (tube) cake pan. (Do not use fluted tube cake pan or 9-inch angel food pan or batter will overflow.)
  • Bake 37 to 47 minutes or until top is dark golden brown and cracks feel very dry and not sticky. Do not underbake. Immediately turn pan upside down onto glass bottle until cake is completely cool, about 2 hours.
  • Run knife around side of pan to loosen cake; remove from pan. Cut off top of cake about 1 inch from top; set aside. Cut down into cake 1 inch from outer edge and 1 inch from edge of center hole, leaving substantial "walls" on each side. Remove cake within cuts with curved knife or spoon, being careful to leave a base of cake 1 inch thick. Spoon ice cream into cake cavity; smooth top. Replace top of cake. Cover and freeze about 3 hours or until firm. Serve with chocolate-flavor sauce.

ANGEL BARS

Angel Bars image

My sister made this recipe this past Christmas, and I demanded that she give me the recipe. Ohhhh, but these are heavenly!! Salty, sweet, peanut buttery, chocolatey--these no-bake bars have it all. Use caution when preparing and serving--they're so good, they're deadly : )

Time 45m

Yield 36 bars, 36 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 9

72 crackers (Keebler Butter, Club Crackers, Ritz crackers, etc.)
1 cup butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup white sugar
1/2 cup milk
2 cups graham cracker crumbs (make sure they are finely crushed)
2/3 cup peanut butter
1/2 cup milk chocolate chips
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Line a 9"x13" pan with foil. Spray the foil with non-stick vegetable spray. Put one layer of crackers in the bottom of the pan, side by side (don't overlap).
  • In a small saucepan melt the butter. Add the sugars and the milk. Bring to a boil; reduce heat and keep on a low boil for 5 minutes. Add the graham cracker crumbs, bring to a boil again and boil for 1 full minute.
  • Spread half of the graham cracker mixture over the crackers in the baking pan. Place another layer of crackers on top, and pour the rest of the graham cracker mixture over the crackers. Spread to cover evenly. Top with a third layer of crackers.
  • In a microwave or a bain marie, melt together the peanut butter and the chocolate chips. Spread this mixture evenly over the top of the crackers. Let cool, and then chill in the refrigerator for at least four hours.
  • Cut into serving squares with a knife. This cuts beautifully into nice, sharp squares showing the layers. Enjoy!

CHOCOLATE CHIP ANGEL BARS

Chocolate Chip Angel Bars image

These chocolate chip bars are the softest, thickest, chewiest cookies you will ever taste. They're perfect for those who hate crunchy cookies and crave the warm, soft bakery kind. They can even be frosted but taste absolutely wonderful just plain and can be made very quickly. I brought them to school once and everyone enjoyed them. Therefore, I thought I'd post this yummy recipe for you all to have! Cookbook: Mrs. Fields Cookie Book

Time 42m

Yield 14-16 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 8

2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 cup dark brown sugar, firmly packed
1 cup margarine
1 egg
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans (I usually leave them out. They interupt the softness of the bar.)
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 300 degrees Fareinheight. Grease an 8 by 8 inch baking pan.
  • Combine flour and baking soda in a medium bowl. Mix well.
  • In a seperate large bowl, use a mixer to blend the sugar and butter. Add the egg and vanilla and beat until light and fluffy.
  • Then, add the flour mixture, chocolate chips, and pecans if you decide to use them. Blend at a low speed until just mixed.
  • Transfer the dough into the cooking pan and level it out. Bake for 35-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean, but the center is still soft.
  • Cut into bars and enjoy!
