Quick Chinese-Style Vermicelli (Rice Noodles) image

Quick and delicious Chinese-style rice noodles.

1 (8 ounce) package dried rice noodles
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tablespoon soy sauce
½ tablespoon chili sauce
salt and pepper to taste
1 green onion, chopped

Steps:

  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Add rice noodles, and cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until al dente; do not overcook, or they will become mushy. Drain.
  • Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Saute garlic until tender. Stir in noodles, and season with soy sauce, chili sauce, salt and pepper. Sprinkle top with chopped green onion.

I thought why stick to only noodles so I gave the vermicelli recipe a twist from the regular onion-tomato version and created the Chinese version of vermicelli. Check out the recipe.

3 cup Vermicelli Noodles
1/2 cup Green Cabbage
1/2 cup Carrot
1/4 cup Bell Pepper
1 Green Chili Pepper
1 Onion
2 tablespoon Soy Sauce
1 tablespoon Distilled White Vinegar
3 tablespoon Chings Noodles Masala
2 tablespoon Oil
to taste Salt

Steps:

  • Boil the Vermicelli Noodles (3 cup) according to package instructions. Once cooked, drain excess water and set aside.
  • Add Oil (2 tablespoon) to a pan. Once the oil is hot, add Green Chili Pepper (1), Green Cabbage (1/2 cup), Carrot (1/2 cup), Bell Pepper (1/4 cup), and Onion (1). Mix and saute it for 5 minutes.
  • Add the cooked noodles, Chings Noodles Masala (3 tablespoon), Salt (to taste), Soy Sauce (2 tablespoon), and Distilled White Vinegar (1 tablespoon). Mix everything well and cook it for 3-4 minutes on high heat.
  • Turn off heat and serve immediately.

1/2 cup sesame oil
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
1 cup toasted sesame seeds
2 1/2 lbs vermicelli
scallion, sliced diagonally, for garnish

Steps:

  • Combine first five ingredients and toss with cooked pasta. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and garnish with scallions.
