3 cups uncooked whole wheat spiral pasta
2 cups fresh broccoli florets
2 tablespoons plus 1 teaspoon all-purpose flour
1-1/4 cups reduced-sodium chicken broth
2 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup fat-free half-and-half
4 ounces reduced-fat process cheese (Velveeta), cubed
1 teaspoon garlic-herb seasoning blend
1/4 teaspoon salt
2-1/2 cups cubed cooked chicken breast
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, cook pasta according to package directions, adding broccoli during the last 2 minutes of cooking; drain., Meanwhile, in a small bowl, whisk flour and broth until smooth. In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat; stir in broth mixture. Add half-and-half. Bring to a boil; cook and stir 1 minute or until thickened. Add process cheese, seasoning blend and salt; stir until smooth., Add chicken and pasta mixture; heat through, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat; sprinkle with cheddar cheese. Let stand, covered, 5-10 minutes or until cheese is melted.

  • In a 10-inch (25 cm) skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat; cook broccoli and chicken, stirring, 3 minutes. Combine soup with milk; pour over broccoli and chicken. Bring to a simmer.

This chicken broccoli pasta uses egg noodles, but you can use your favorite pasta shape. You can even plan ahead and shred your deli chicken the night before. To put this chicken and broccoli skillet supper together, simply cook bacon, then make a sauce with butter, garlic, chicken broth, cream, and seasonings. After stirring in chicken, broccoli and other ingredients, broil for a crispy finish. We flavored with skillet pasta with Peppadew peppers, which is the brand name of the piquanté pepper, which is small, round, and pickled in a sweet-and-spicy brine. Look for this type in the olive bar in your grocery store's deli section, or use jarred sweet cherry peppers.

3 cups shredded cooked chicken (from 1 rotisserie chicken)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to broil with oven rack 6 inches from heat. Heat a 12-inch ovenproof skillet over medium. Add bacon, and cook, stirring often, until crisp, about 10 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, transfer bacon to a plate lined with paper towels, reserving 2 tablespoons bacon drippings in skillet.
  • Add butter and garlic to hot drippings in skillet. Cook, stirring constantly, until fragrant, about 1 minute. Whisk in flour, and cook, whisking constantly, 2 minutes. Gradually whisk in chicken broth, cream, salt, and pepper until smooth. Bring to a simmer over medium-high, whisking occasionally. Stir in broccoli. Cook, stirring occasionally, until sauce is slightly thickened, about 7 minutes.
  • Remove from heat; stir in cheeses until smooth. Stir in cooked pasta, chicken, peppers, and half the reserved bacon. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Broil in preheated oven until lightly toasted, 1 to 2 minutes. Sprinkle with remaining bacon.

1 clove garlic, minced
1⁄4 cup all-purpose flour

3 cups shredded cooked chicken

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to broil. In a 10-inch cast-iron skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp. Remove bacon using a slotted spoon, and let drain on paper towels, reserving drippings in skillet. Add broccoli; cook until bright green and heated through, 2 to 3 minutes. Remove from skillet with a slotted spoon. Add butter to pan, and melt over medium heat. Add garlic and flour, whisking to combine. Gradually whisk in milk until thickened. Stir in 1 cup cheese until melted. 2 medium boneless chicken breasts
12oz frozen of fresh broccoli
1 (16oz) box of pasta
1 can of homemade cream of chicken condensed soup
½ cup shredded cheese
salt and pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • In a large skillet, place the chicken breasts and cook on medium heat for about 4-5 minutes on each side until done. Dice into small chunks and place back into the skillet.
  • In a large pot, boil the pasta under tender and drain. Place into the skillet with the chicken.
  • In the same pot, boil the broccoli until it is no longer frozen. Place into the skillet with the chicken and pasta.
  • Stir in the homemade cream of chicken condensed soup and mix everything together. Add salt and pepper, to taste.
  • Add the shredded cheese on top and broil high under the cheese has melted.

1 medium white onion (chopped)
2 chicken breasts (boneless and skinless, cubed into bite-sized pieces)
½ teaspoon salt (or to taste)

10 ounce condensed cheddar broccoli soup (or cream of chicken soup, 1 can)
2 ½ cups chicken broth (low sodium)
8 ounce penne (uncooked, or other small-shaped pasta)
1 small head of broccoli (cut into florets, about 2 1/2 cups)
2 ½ cups sharp cheddar (shredded)
1 tablespoon parsley (freshly chopped)

Steps:

  • Cook the Chicken: Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onion, cubed chicken breasts, salt, and pepper. Cook for 5-7 minutes, or until the onion becomes translucent and the chicken browns slightly.
  • Add Ingredients: Add the garlic and cook for another 30 seconds, or until aromatic. Stir in the condensed soup, chicken broth, and pasta. Stir well to combine. Let the mixture come to a boil, then reduce the heat to a simmer. Cover and cook for 10-15 minutes, until the pasta is almost completely cooked.

1 tsp basil (dried)
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp red pepper flakes

1 cup marble cheese (shredded)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F and spray 9 x 13 baking dish with cooking spray. Set aside.
  • In a large pot, add stock and bring to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 5-6 minutes or al dente, stirring occasionally. Do not drain.

1 cup low-sugar, low-fat pasta sauce
1/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan
4 ounces whole wheat spaghetti (1 cup uncooked)
4 cups broccoli florets (8 ounces)
1 tablespoon, plus 1 teaspoon olive oil

Steps:

  • Set a medium-size nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Spray with olive oil, and brown the chicken 2 minutes on each side. Season each cooked side with salt and pepper. 1/4 cup sun-dried tomato packed in oil (drained or snipped)
Italian parsley
fresh ground pepper

Steps:

  • In a large saucepan, cook pasta, add broccoli during last 3 minute of cooking time, when al dente remove, drain. pasta and broccoli.
  • While pasta is cooking, remove meat from chicken, coarsely chop.

(2) 10.5 ounce cans condensed cream of chicken soup
2 cups three-cheese blend or triple cheddar shredded cheese (can substitute all cheddar)
1/2 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon kosher salt
Fresh black pepper to taste (we like a lot in this recipe!)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
3 tablespoons butter
2 1/2 cups panko breadcrumbs (we used whole wheat for a darker brown color)

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  • Add the chicken, broccoli, pasta, condensed soup, 1 cup of the cheese, sour cream, salt, pepper and garlic powder to a large bowl. Mix together to combine.
  • Add the butter to a skillet over medium heat. Once the butter has melted, add the bread crumbs and stir to coat. Cook until golden brown and then remove from the heat.
  • Pour the filling into a 9″ x 13″ baking dish. Top with with remaining 1 cup of cheese and then add the toasted bread crumbs.

1 teaspoon salt

2 cup half 'n' half
4 tablespoons cornstarch (dissolved in 4 tablespoons of water)
24 ounces fresh broccoli florets
16 ounces wide egg noodles (cooked and drained)
4 cups cooked chicken (diced or shredded)
1 cup Colby jack cheese (grated)

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray a 9x13 casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray and set aside.
  • In a large stockpot or Dutch oven, heat butter over medium until melted.
  • Add onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and bouillon to the butter and saute for 1 to 2 minutes.
  • Whisk in water and the half and half cream.
  • Dissolve 4 tablespoons cornstarch in 4 tablespoons of water to make a slurry, and then whisk this slurry into the filling mixture in the pot.
  • Whisk and cook over medium heat until the mixture comes to a simmer and begins to thicken.
  • Stir in broccoli florets and cook 1 to 2 minutes longer.
  • Spread cooked noodles and diced chicken evenly in the prepared casserole dish.
  • Pour the broccoli/sauce mixture over the top and stir to combine everything evenly.
  • Bake, covered with aluminum foil, for 30 minutes or until broccoli is fork-tender. Remove from the oven.
  • Stir the casserole to redistribute sauce. Sprinkle with cheese. Place foil loosely over the casserole and leave to set for 5 minutes. For a browned cheese, you can return the casserole, uncovered, to the oven for 5 to 10 minutes instead of setting it for 5 minutes.

3 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
2 cups broccoli florets, finely chopped

2 cups Cheddar cheese, shredded

  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add rotini pasta and cook until al dente, 7 to 10 minutes. Drain, cover, and set aside until needed.
  • Melt butter in a saucepan over medium-high heat, and stir in 1 tablespoon olive oil. Add 1 cup broccoli; toss and cook just until tender, about 5 minutes. Sprinkle broccoli with flour, and cook 1 minute. Stir in the chicken broth, and bring to a boil. Pour in the milk, and stir to blend. Season with salt, pepper, and chipotle pepper powder, if desired.
