1/2 cup butter
2 (1 ounce) unsweetened chocolate, squares
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon vanilla
8 ounces caramels, unwrapped (about 30 caramels)
3 tablespoons whipped cream
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
vanilla ice cream

Steps:

  • heat oven to 350*F.
  • in 2 qt saucepan combine butter and unsweetened chocolate. cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until melted.
  • stir in remaining brownie ingredients.
  • spread batter into greased 9" pie pan. bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until brownie is firm to the touch.
  • meanwhile, in 1 qt saucepan cook caramels and whipping cream over medium heat, stirring occasionally until caramels are melted.
  • remove brownie from oven, spread melted caramel mixture over entire baked brownie.
  • sprinkle with pecans and chocolate chips.
  • return to oven, bake for 3 to 5 minutes or until caramel mixture is bubbly.
  • let stand 30 to 45 minutes, cut into wedges, serve warn with ice cream.

3/4 cup baking cocoa
1 cup canola oil
4 large eggs, room temperature
1/4 cup 2% milk
1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts, divided
1 package (14 ounces) caramels
1 can (14 ounces) sweetened condensed milk

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, beat the sugar, cocoa, oil, eggs and milk. Combine the flour, salt and baking powder; gradually add to egg mixture until well blended. Fold in chocolate chips and 1/2 cup walnuts. , Spoon two-thirds of the batter into a greased 13x9-in. baking pan. Bake at 350° for 12 minutes., Meanwhile, in a large saucepan, heat the caramels and condensed milk over low heat until caramels are melted. Pour over baked brownie layer. Sprinkle with remaining walnuts., Drop remaining batter by teaspoonfuls over caramel layer; carefully swirl brownie batter with a knife. , Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out with moist crumbs (do not overbake). 3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons unbleached all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
7 ounces unsweetened chocolate, finely chopped (1 1/3 cups)
3 tablespoons safflower or coconut oil
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed light-brown sugar
3 large eggs, room temperature

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a 9-inch square baking pan. Line with parchment, leaving a 2-inch overhang on two sides; butter parchment.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. In a heatproof bowl set over a pot of simmering water, melt chocolate and butter with oil. Remove from heat. Add both sugars and whisk 10 seconds. Add eggs and whisk vigorously until glossy and smooth,45 seconds. Using a rubber spatula, stir in dry ingredients. 1 (18.25 ounce) package German chocolate cake mix
¾ cup butter
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped walnuts
1 (14 ounce) package individually wrapped caramels, unwrapped

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease one 8x10 inch baking pan.
  • Combine cake mix, 1/2 of the evaporated milk, the butter or margarine and the chopped nuts. Mix until combined and spread 1/2 of the batter into the prepared pan.
  • Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 6 minutes.
  • Melt the caramels and the remaining evaporated milk.

Vegetable oil, water and eggs called for on brownie mix box
1 pouch (1 lb 1.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ chocolate chip cookie mix
Butter and egg called for on cookie mix pouch
Caramel topping or sauce

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F. Spray 9-inch springform pan with cooking spray.
  • Make brownie mix batter as directed on box, using oil, water and eggs. Spread in bottom of pan. Bake 30 minutes. Cool 10 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, make cookie mix dough as directed on pouch, using butter and egg.
  • Drop cookie dough in chunks on top of partially baked brownie layer. With back of spoon or your hands, gently press cookie dough together to form an even layer.

I mixed butterscotch, bourdeaux syrup and caramel sauce for mine, however, one of the three would work as well. **NOTE: Be sure the caramel or butterscotch you use is the thickest one you can find. If you use a thin one, it will cause problems when setting.

2/3 cup evaporated milk, divided
12 tablespoons butter or 12 tablespoons margarine, melted
12 ounces thick butterscotch sundae sauce or 12 ounces bordeaux syrup

12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350.
  • Grease a 9x13" pan.
  • Beat cake mix, 1/3 cup evaporated milk and melted butter rapidly for 1 minute.

1 (14 ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup light corn syrup
1 pinch salt
1 ½ teaspoons vanilla extract

Steps:

  • In a heavy bottomed saucepan over medium heat, combine the butter, brown sugar, sweetened condensed milk, corn syrup and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Heat to between 234 and 240 degrees F (112 to 116 degrees C), or until a small amount of syrup dropped into cold water forms a soft ball that flattens when removed from the water and placed on a flat surface. Cook for 2 minutes at that temperature. Remove from the heat and stir in vanilla.
  • Meanwhile, butter a 9x13 inch baking pan. When the caramel is ready, pour into the buttered pan. Allow to cool completely at room temperature. Remove from the pan and cut into squares using scissors. Wrap individual pieces in waxed paper or cellophane.
