Steps:

  • 1. In a large non-stick pan, heat the oil, add the beef, green peppers and scallions. Cook for 7-8 minutes, stirring as needed, until the beef is browned and the vegetables are soft. 2. Add tomatoes, spices, salt and pepper; cook, stirring as needed until the flavours are blended, about five minutes. 3. In a baking dish, arrange alternate layers of the potatoes and beef mixture. Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes. 4. Sprinkle the cheese on top and bake for 10 more minutes until the potatoes are cooked through and the cheese is melted.

Steps:

  • Put potatoes in a large mixing bowl, add cooked bacon, mayonnaise, 1 3/4 cups shredded cheddar cheese, chopped onion, black pepper, salt, garlic, and sour cream. Mix all ingredients together and place in a sprayed 9 x 13 baking dish. Cover with foil and bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 45 minutes.
  • Remove foil, add the other 1/4 cup cheddar cheese, extra bacon and onion if desired and cook another 15 to 20 minutes.

3 medium white potatoes (pared, and sliced very thin)
1 lb lean ground beef
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1/4 cup celery, chopped
1 teaspoon garlic, minced
1 teaspoon celery leaves (fresh or dried optional)
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (spicy optional)
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
3/4 cup milk (add a little more if needed)
1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon chili powder (optional)
1 pinch salt
1 pinch pepper
1 pinch paprika
grated cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Spray a baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Preheat oven 375 degrees.
  • Spray a large skillet with cooking spray and brown ground beef.
  • Drain ground beef, if necessary.
  • Add onions and celery to same skillet and cook until soft, adding rest of spice ingredients through pepper flakes. Stir well. But in a bowl and set to the side.
  • In same skillet, melt butter (or use 1 tablespoon of leftover grease from browning ground beef). Add flour to butter, stirring for one minute over medium-high heat.
  • Gradually add milk and cook till bubbly and thickened.
  • Add cheese, nutmeg, salt, pepper, and chili powder continue to stir until melted.
  • Spoon 1/4 cup of the ground beef mixture and spread evenly on bottom of a baking dish.
  • Add 1 layer of potatoes.
  • Alternate ground beef mixture, then potatoes until completely used.
  • Pour cheese sauce over ground beef and potato mixture.
  • Top with a pinch of paprika and grated cheese.
  • Bake for 1 hour, or until potatoes and beef are bubbly and done.

2 boxes Betty Crocker* Country Cut Cheddar Scalloped Potatoes
5 1/2 cups (1.375 L) water
2/3 cup (150 mL) milk
2 tbsp (25 mL) butter or margarine
2 tsp (10 mL) chopped fresh thyme leaves (or 1/4 tsp/1 mL dried)
2 cups (500 mL) shredded old Cheddar cheese
1/4 tsp (1 mL) paprika

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400ºF. Spray 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish with nonstick cooking spray. In large skillet, cook ground beef and onion over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, until no longer pink; drain.
  • In 3-quart saucepan, heat water, milk and butter to boiling. Stir in thyme, 2 pouches potatoes and 2 pouches sauce mix. Heat until mixture starts to thicken, about 1 minute.

Steps:

1/2 cup beef broth
1/2 cup milk
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1/4 cup water
4 medium yellow potatoes, (washed and cubed)
2 cups cheddar cheese, (shredded)

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Spray a 9x13 inch pan with cooking spray. Set aside.
  • In a medium skillet, brown the ground beef and the onion. Drain and set aside.
  • Meanwhile, in a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium low heat. Stir in the flour. Slowly add in the beef broth and milk, mixing until smooth. Bring to a gentle boil, cooking until thickened.
  • Remove from heat and add in the cream of mushroom soup and water.

8 small - medium potatoes (* I use red because I think they look really nice, but you could use white as well)
5 tbsp butter, melted
2 small onions, chopped
2 clove garlic
1 1/2 lbs extra lean ground beef
2 -10 ounce pkgs of frozen spinach (Defrosted, drained with liquid squeezed out)
1 cup cottage cheese
2 cups grated Swiss cheese
2 large eggs
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp Pepper
chopped chives (shown in photos) or green onions

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F and Grease and 9" X 11" casserole dish
  • Cook ground beef in skillet with diced onion until browned and cooked through. Drain and set aside.
  • Slice potatoes into 1/4 inch thick rounds.
  • Place sliced potatoes on a plate and cover with saran wrap. Alternatively, you can simply cover it with a microwave safe cover if you don't want to use saran wrap.
  • Cook in the microwave for 8 minutes or until fork through easily. *I do this in 2 batches**BE CAREFUL when you take the saran wrap off ( if you use it) as lots of steam is released and it's HOT!
  • Melt butter in separate bowl in microwave safe bowl.
  • Arrange half of the potatoes in bottom of dish and drizzle with butter.
  • In a separate medium mixing bowl, mix 1/2 cup grated Swiss cheese, spinach, cottage cheese, garlic and egg. Then add ground beef. Mix well.
  • Spread the spinach and ground beef mixture over the first layer of potatoes and butter.
  • Cover with remaining potatoes, drizzle with remaining 2 1/2 tbsp butter.
  • Sprinkle with remaining 1 1/2 cups Swiss cheese.
  • Bake 40-50 minutes or until potatoes are soft. Cool for 5 minutes

Easy Cheddar Potato Bake image

This is a really great tater recipe, it's one I have been making for a long time, not only is it easy to make it's so good! You really don't have to have the exact amounts for this recipe, throw in another potato if desired, use as much cheese as as you like!

4 large russet potatoes (peeled or unpeeled)
1/4 cup butter
1 small onion, finely chopped
salt and pepper (I use seasoned salt for this)
1/2 teaspoon dried thyme (or to taste)
1/2-1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional) or 1 tablespoon minced fresh garlic (optional)
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese (or to taste)
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley

Steps:

  • Set oven to 425 degrees.
  • Butter a shallow baking sish.
  • Thinly slice the potatoes, and place in the baking dish.
  • In a small saucepan, heat butter, onion, salt, pepper, garlic powder and thyme until the butter is melted.
  • Drizzle over potatoes.
  • Cover, and bake for 45 minutes, or until potatoes tender.
  • Remove from oven, sprinkle with cheese and parsley.
  • Return to oven and bake for another 10-15 minutes longer, or until cheese is melted.

Flavorful ground beef with sliced potatoes in a creamy and cheesy sauce! The family is sure to love this layered casserole!

1 lb lean ground beef
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp pepper
4 large potatoes (peeled and sliced very thin (about 3 cups))
10.75 oz cream of mushroom soup
1/4 cup cream
1/2 cup beef stock
1 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Lightly grease an 11 x 7-inch baking pan. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
  • Brown ground beef and onion; drain
  • Mix the soup, garlic powder, pepper, stock and cream in a bowl
  • Layer half of the potatoes in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  • Pour half the soup mixture over the potatoes.
  • Top with half the ground beef mixture
  • Sprinkle half of the cheese on top
  • Repeat with second layer.
  • Cover with aluminum foil and place in pre-heated oven.
  • Check for potato doneness in center of casserole after 1 hour. May be cooked an additional 30 minutes if potatoes are not soft after 1 hour.
  • Remove from the oven and let casserole stand for about 10 minutes.
  • Slice it lasagna style and serve.
  • SLOW COOKER DIRECTIONS
  • Brown ground beef & onions as in main recipe; drain.
  • Layer as in main recipe, but in a large slow cooker.
  • Omit covering with foil as it will be covered with the cooker's cover
  • Cook approximately3-5 hours on high, 6-8 hours on low (times are approximate as all cookers cook differently. Always check at the minimum time listed.

1 tablespoon extra-virgin olive oil, plus more for the baking dish
Kosher salt
3 cups wide egg noodles (about 5 ounces)
1 1/2 cups sour cream
1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan
12 ounces ground beef
1 red bell pepper, seeded and chopped
1 bunch scallions (white and green parts), finely chopped
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
One 14 1/2-ounce can petite diced tomatoes
2 cups grated Cheddar

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Oil a 2-quart baking dish.
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the noodles and cook to al dente according to the package directions. Drain and put in the prepared baking dish. Toss with the sour cream, Parmesan and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
  • Meanwhile, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and cook, stirring, until no longer pink, about 4 minutes. Add the bell peppers and scallions and cook until crisp-tender, about 3 minutes. Make a space in the pan, add the tomato paste and toast for a minute. Sprinkle with the Italian seasoning and 1/4 teaspoon salt. Add the diced tomatoes, stir and bring to a simmer. Cook until slightly thickened, about 2 minutes.
  • Pour the beef mixture over the noodles and sprinkle with the grated Cheddar. Bake on the middle rack until the cheese is melted and the edges are bubbling, 15 to 20 minutes. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
