CARAMELIZED ONION-BACON BURGERS

- Place 1/3 cup barbecue sauce in a small bowl. Crumble beef over barbecue sauce and mix well. Shape into four patties., In a small skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp. Remove to paper towels; drain. In another skillet, saute onion in 2 tablespoons butter until softened. Reduce heat to medium-low; cook, stirring occasionally, for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown., Spread buns with remaining butter; set aside. Grill burgers, covered, over medium heat or broil 4 in. from the heat for 5-7 minutes on each side or until a thermometer reads 160° and juices run clear. Top with cheese. Grill 1 minute longer or until cheese is melted., Place buns, cut side down, on grill for 1-2 minutes or until toasted. Spread buns with barbecue sauce; serve burgers on buns with onion and bacon.

- Mix beef, mustard, Worcestershire sauce and dry seasonings just until blended; shape into 4 (1/2-inch-thick) patties. Set aside.
- Cook bacon and onions in skillet over medium heat 10 to 15 min. or until bacon is crisp and onions are lightly browned, stirring frequently.
- Meanwhile, cook beef patties in separate covered nonstick skillet over medium heat 10 min. or until done (160°F), turning burgers and uncovering skillet after 5 min.
- Use slotted spoon to transfer bacon mixture from skillet to medium bowl. Stir in ketchup.
- Place lettuce on bottom halves of rolls; top with burgers, Singles, bacon mixture and pickles. Cover with tops of rolls.

Steps:
- Cook onions and sugar in hot oil over low heat 20 to 25 minutes until onion is caramelized, stirring often. Stir in the 1/4 cup water, vinegar, and 1/4 teaspoon of the salt. Set aside and keep warm.
- Combine beef, parsley, tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and pepper. Shape into 4 patties.
- Grill over medium-hot heat until beef is no longer pink.
- Serve on buns with caramelized onions, tomato slices and lettuce.

- Note: 1 lb of ground beef can either make 2 big burger patties or 3 smaller. You can also divide the ground beef into 6 sliders. Size of patties will affect cook time. Onions will take the most time to cook so start them first.
- Slice onion thinly. Add some vegetable oil to the preheated pan and add sliced onions. Season with salt and add sugar. Mix well and let onions slowly cook, stirring occasionally, until golden color is reached. Add 1/4 cup of beer, stir, and let onions cook until liquid is pretty much cooked out. Take off heat.
- Preheat a cooking pan over medium heat and add some vegetable oil. Form patties out of ground beef, working them as quickly and you can. Salt and pepper each side and add them to the heated pan. Cook on each side until burgers almost reach your desired temperature. Add about 3 tablespoons of beer to the pan and let burgers finish cooking on each side.
