"This is the easiest trifle I've ever made, yet it looks like I spent time on it," says Tracy Bergland, Prior Lake, Minnesota. "I like to pipe whipped topping around the edge of the bowl, grate chocolate in the center and sprinkle with cinnamon. It gets rave reviews."

2-1/2 cups cold milk
1/3 cup instant coffee granules
2 packages (3.4 ounces each) instant vanilla pudding mix
1 carton (16 ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed, divided
2 loaves (10-3/4 ounces each) frozen pound cake, thawed and cubed
1 ounce semisweet chocolate, grated
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Steps:

  • In a large bowl, stir milk and coffee granules until dissolved; remove 1 cup and set aside. Add pudding mixes to the remaining milk mixture; beat on low speed for 2 minutes (mixture will be thick). Fold in half of the whipped topping., Place a third of the cake cubes in a 4-qt. serving or trifle bowl. Layer with a third of the reserved milk mixture and pudding mixture and a fourth of the grated chocolate. Repeat layers twice. Garnish with remaining whipped topping and chocolate. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Cover and refrigerate until serving.

2 Tbsp. MAXWELL HOUSE Instant Coffee
2 Tbsp. orange juice
2 tsp. vanilla
1 jar (7 oz.) JET-PUFFED Marshmallow Creme
1 pkg. (9 oz.) chocolate wafer cookies, finely crushed
1 cup finely chopped pecans
1 Tbsp. grated orange zest
2 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
2 Tbsp. powdered sugar

Steps:

  • Dissolve instant coffee in combined juice and vanilla. Gradually add to marshmallow creme in small bowl of electric mixer, beating on low speed until well well blended. Add wafer crumbs, pecans and zest; mix well.
  • Shape into 1-inch balls; roll in combined cocoa and powdered sugar until evenly coated. Place in single layer in shallow pan; cover tightly.
  • Refrigerate several hours or until firm. Store in tightly covered container in refrigerator.

1/2 cup strong coffee

  • Bake cake according to package directions. Cool. Prepare pudding according to package directions; set aside. , Crumble cake; reserve 1/2 cup. Place half of the remaining cake crumbs in the bottom of a 4-1/2- or 5-qt. trifle dish or decorative glass bowl. , Layer with half of the coffee, half of the pudding, half of the whipped topping and half of the crushed candy bars. 2 tablespoons butter
3 shallots, sliced
3 cloves garlic, smashed
1/2 cup chestnut puree (unsweetened) or 8 whole chestnuts, roasted and shelled
1 tablespoon black truffles, minced, save a little for garnish
2 cups chicken stock
1/2 cup heavy cream
1 teaspoon truffle oil

Steps:

  • In a heated saucepan, add butter and saute shallots and garlic until lightly brown, about 3 minutes. Add chestnuts and truffles and season. Add chicken stock and bring to a simmer. Reduce by 1/3 and add cream and truffle oil. Bring back to a simmer and check for seasoning. Transfer to a blender and puree smooth.
  • Pour the pureed mixture into 4 coffee cups, 2/3 full. Steam like a cappuccino. Garnish on top with minced truffle and serve immediately.

1 marble loaf cake (Entenmanns makes a perfect one)
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
3/4 cup brewed coffee (you may substitute decaf)
1 1/2 cups cold milk
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 (3 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding (4-1/2 cup serving size box)
1 (8 ounce) container Cool Whip
chocolate shavings (optional)

Steps:

  • Cube loaf cake and place 1/2 in the bottom of a 2qt serving dish.
  • Beat coffee with the cream cheese using a wire whisk until smooth.
  • Gradually add all of the milk.
  • Add the cinnamon and pudding until well blended.
  • Gently add the Cool Whip until smooth.
  • Pour 1/2 this mixture on the 1/2 half of the cubed cake, then add the remaining cake topped with the remaining cappuccino mixture.
  • Garnish with the chocolate shavings.
  • Be sure to refrigerate before serving for a nice cool treat!
