Steps:
- Combine the flour, baking powder, corn meal, salt, and sugar in a large mixing bowl.
- Add the eggs, then pour the milk.
- Next add the vegetable oil and the butter.
- Mix everything until it's well combined.
- Fold the ingredients until well combined.
- Lightly oil a 9x13, and pour the cornbread batter.
- Bake on 350 for 35-40 minutes.
- Serve and enjoy!

- Preheat oven to 350° F and lightly grease a 8″x8″ square baking dish or 9 inch round pan.
- Blend dry ingredients together in a large bowl.
- Mix in softened butter. Blend in milk, sour cream and egg. Beat until moist. Pour the batter into prepared pan and place in preheated oven. Bake around 30-35 minutes, until surface starts to crack and edges pull away from pan.
- If you are using heavy glass bakeware, it may take 5 - 10 minutes longer. A toothpick inserted near the center of the bread should test dry when it is done.

- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Butter and lightly flour a 9-inch cake pan. Be sure to remove any excess flour from the pan.
- Whisk together the flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a large bowl.
- Whisk together 8 tablespoons of the butter with the buttermilk, eggs and vanilla in a small bowl until smooth.
- Pour the butter mixture into the cornmeal mixture and stir until thoroughly combined. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake until a cake tester comes out clean, about 30 minutes.
- Let cool for 15 minutes before removing from the pan. Mix the honey and the remaining 2 tablespoons butter together in a small bowl, then spread all over the top of the cornbread to finish. Serve immediately or at room temperature.

- Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (225 degrees C). Melt the shortening in a 9 inch round iron skillet in the heating oven.
- In a large bowl, stir the cornmeal, salt and baking soda together. Stir in the egg and buttermilk.
- Remove skillet from the oven and pour the batter into the skillet, stirring the melted shortening into the batter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes. Remove from oven when top of cornbread is brown and it feels firm to the touch. Turn out on to a serving plate. Cut into wedges and serve immediately with butter.

- Preheat the oven to 400°F Use 1 tablespoon of the butter to grease two 7x4x3 inch bread pans. Shake a little flour in each pan to coat.
