BROILED BANANA CRISP
A truly unique sweet treat that apple crisp lovers should really give a try! NOTE: this recipe is specifically created for individual ramekins/portions...Any attempt to make it into a 'one pan' dish may alter the recipe beyond the intended results...Alter this recipe at your own risk, LOL!

Steps:
- Peel bananas and drizzle with lemon juice; then cut in half lengthwise and then again across.
- You should have a total of 16 quarters of banana.
- Then distribute these banana quarters equally among 4 broil-and-serve dishes.
- In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, uncooked oats, flour and allspice -- NOTE: Allspice tastes like a combination of nutmeg, cinnamon and cloves, so you could probably substitute a mixture of those three if you're out of allspice or go with just cinnamon.
- Cut butter into the mixture until it resembles crumbs and then spread the crumbs equally over all the bananas.
- Turn on your broiler and place these dishes under the broiler, 5" from the heat source and broil 3 min; the idea is to brown it and warm it at the same time.
- Watch carefully, don't burn it or yourself!
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.

GRILLED BANANAS: PLATANOS ASADOS
One of our favorite quick desserts from Grill It! with Bobby Flay. This is a great way to use up over ripened bananas. The fresh, naturally sweet flavor of the bananas is intensified by the grilling and the cinnamon really makes this recipe a winner.

Recipe from our local Whole Foods Market. Looks interesting and different. I've never made this, so I am completely guessing at prep/cook times. Time to marinate fruit is not included.

Steps:
- Preheat broiler, with rack 6 inches from heat source. Mix ricotta and nutmeg in a small bowl. Mix sugars, salt, and vanilla in a small bowl. Cut bananas diagonally 1/4 inch thick, keeping slices in order as you cut. Discard tips.
- Spread 1/4 cup ricotta mixture in each of four 5-inch-wide by 1-inch-deep baking dishes. Fan 1 banana around edge of each dish, creating a circle. Gently press bananas into ricotta mixture. Using a pastry brush, lightly brush bananas with water, then sprinkle each with 2 tablespoons sugar mixture. Pat sugar into an even layer on top of bananas to prevent the sugar from clumping and burning.
- Broil until sugar has caramelized and bananas have softened, 3 to 4 minutes. Serve immediately.
