¼ cup sunflower seeds
½ cup mayonnaise
⅓ cup white sugar
3 tablespoons red wine vinegar

Steps:

  • Combine broccoli, onion, bacon, raisins, and sunflower seeds in a bowl.
  • Whisk mayonnaise, sugar, and red wine vinegar together in a bowl until dressing is smooth; pour over broccoli mixture and stir to coat.

1 teaspoon salt
2 bunches broccoli (about 3 pounds), stems removed, cut into florets
6 thick-sliced bacon strips, chopped
2 tablespoons olive oil
6 to 8 garlic cloves, thinly sliced
1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

Steps:

  • Fill a 6-qt. stockpot two-thirds full with water; add salt and bring to a boil over high heat. In batches, add broccoli and cook until broccoli turns bright green, 2-3 minutes; remove with a slotted spoon., In a large skillet, cook bacon over medium heat until crisp, stirring occasionally. Remove with a slotted spoon; drain on paper towels. Discard drippings, reserving 1 tablespoon in pan., Add oil to drippings; heat over medium heat. Add garlic and pepper flakes; cook and stir until garlic is fragrant, 2-3 minutes (do not allow to brown). Add broccoli; cook until broccoli is tender, stirring occasionally. Stir in bacon; sprinkle with cheese.

Sick of sandwiches? want something different for lunch? this light and satisfying recipe is just the thing to fix those blues. I found this in the Australian brand name recipe cook book. I had invited some friends for lunch and wanted to give them something different. This recipe was a huge hit they left with a smile and the recipe as well.

175 g bacon
1 large onion, finely diced
250 g broccoli, cooked in small florets
90 g butter or 90 g margarine
1/3 cup flour
pepper
2 cups milk
4 large eggs, seperated
2 cups shredded swiss cheese
1/4 cup cracker crumb, crushed (savoury)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 170 degrees Celsius.
  • Remove rind from bacon and chop finely.
  • Place in well greased pan with the onion and fry until cooked, then drain and set aside.
  • Make a white sauce with the butter, flour, seasonings and milk; add half the cheese and set aside, covered for 5 minutes.
  • Beat egg whites until stiff, carefully fold into the sauce, mixing until no streaks remain - do not over beat.
  • Spoon into a lined, greased and flour-dusted large swiss roll pan and bake for 40 45 minutes.
  • In the meantime, scatter the buscuit crumbs over a large sheet of greaseproof paper. Gently mix the bacon, onion, broccoli and remaining cheese together.
  • Carefully turn the cooked roll onto the paper, scatter the bacon mixture evenly over the surface and roll up.
  • Serve hot, warm or cool in slices with a salad if desired.

  • Microwave 5 cups broccoli florets and 1 tablespoon water in a bowl, covered, 2 minutes. Combine 1/4 cup cider vinegar, 1/2 thinly sliced shallot and 1 teaspoon sugar in a small bowl; set aside. Cook 3 bacon slices in a skillet until crisp, 6 to 8 minutes; drain, then crumble. Stir 1 tablespoon bacon drippings and 3 tablespoons sour cream into the vinegar mixture. Toss with the broccoli, 1/3 cup dried cranberries and the bacon. Season with salt and pepper.

3 hard-boiled large eggs, sliced
1/4 cup minced fresh parsley
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 jars (24 ounces each) meatless pasta sauce
Hot cooked spaghetti
Additional minced fresh parsley

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. Place bacon on a microwave-safe plate lined with paper towels. Cover with additional paper towels; microwave on high 3-5 minutes or until partially cooked but not crisp. In a small bowl, mix garlic, Italian seasoning, salt and pepper., Starting at a long side, cut steak horizontally in half to within 1/2 in. of opposite side. Open steak flat; Pound with a meat mallet to 1/4-in. thickness., Spread garlic mixture over steak; sprinkle with cheese. Layer with eggs and bacon to within 1 in. of edges; sprinkle with parsley. Starting with a long side of the steak, roll up jelly-roll style (along the grain); tie at 1-1/2-in. intervals with kitchen string., In a Dutch oven, heat oil over medium-high heat. Brown roulade on all sides. Pour pasta sauce over top. Bake, covered, 1-1/2-1-3/4 hours or until meat is tender., Remove roulade from pot; remove string and cut into slices. 500g pack shaped pasta (we used farfalle)
1 head broccoli , about 300g, cut into small florets
8 rashers smoked bacon , cut into large pieces
5 tbsp pesto
grated parmesan (or vegetarian alternative), to serve

Steps:

  • Bring a large pan of water to the boil and cook the pasta according to pack instructions. About 3 mins before the pasta is cooked, throw in the broccoli. When everything is done, drain, reserving about 100ml of the cooking water.
  • While the pasta is cooking, grill the bacon for 6-7 mins until crisp, then cut into bite-size pieces. Tip everything into the pasta pan, toss together well and loosen with a little of the cooking water, if needed. Sprinkle over the Parmesan and serve.

6 slices OSCAR MAYER Bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces
3 Tbsp. KRAFT Sun Dried Tomato Vinaigrette Dressing
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 lb. broccolini, trimmed
1/4 cup water

Steps:

  • Cook and stir bacon in large skillet on medium heat until crisp. Remove bacon from skillet with slotted spoon; drain on paper towels. Discard all but 1 Tbsp. drippings from skillet.
  • Add dressing and garlic to reserved drippings in skillet; mix well. Stir in broccolini; cook on medium-high heat 3 min., stirring occasionally.
  • Stir in water; cover. Simmer on medium heat 2 min. or until broccolini is crisp-tender. Add bacon; mix lightly.
