From Blackbird in New York (now closed). I substitute my Blackberry Liqueur (Recipe #91061) for the Marie Brizard. Cooking time is actually time to marinate the berries.

Ingredients

1 pint blueberries or 1 pint strawberry
2 teaspoons brandy
4 teaspoons Cointreau liqueur
2 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 fluid ounces marie brizard blackberry liqueur
3/4 fluid ounce fresh lemon juice
3/4 fluid ounce simple syrup (see Sharlene~W's Simple Syrup)
1 fluid ounce water

Steps:

Marinate berries in brandy through sugar 3 hours.
Combine blackberry liqueur through water in a cocktail shaker and shake with ice.
Strain into a highball glass ¾ filled with crushed ice.
Garnish with 1 heaping Tbs marinated mixed berries and serve with a straw.
Use leftover berries to make more drinks or serve over ice cream, pudding, pound cake, etc.

Ingredients

1 pint fresh blackberries, rinsed and dried
1/2 cup superfine sugar (I subbed Splenda with great results)
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1 large bunch mint
crushed ice
1 cup Bourbon
seltzer water, chilled (I subbed diet lemon lime soda with great results)

Steps:

In a small bowl, mash together the blackberries, sugar and vanilla and let sit at room temperature until juicy, about 20 minutes.
Strain the mixture through a sieve into a bowl, pressing against the solids with a rubber spatula; discard the seeds.
For each drink, place about 3 tablespoons of the blackberry syrup and 8 mint leaves into a cocktail glass and muddle together using the handle of a wooden spoon.
Fill with crushed ice, 1/4 cup bourbon and a splash of seltzer. Garnish with a mint sprig.

Ingredients

1 pastry for double-crust pie
3 cups blackberries
1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1 tablespoon grated fresh lemon rind
2 tablespoons butter

Steps:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Wash the blackberries and place on paper towels to drain.
Line the bottom of a pie pan with half of the pastry.
Place the blackberries on top of the pastry.
Sprinkle the sugar, cornstarch and lemon rind on top of the berries.
Dot butter on top of the sugar, cornstarch and lemon rind.
Cut the remaining pastry in strips.
Place the strips in a lattice pattern on top of the pie.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30-45 minutes or until the top of the pie is golden brown.

1/2 cup packed fresh mint leaves
1 pint blackberries
6 tablespoons sugar
1/2 cup bourbon
4 cups small ice cubes
4 sprigs mint, for garnishing

Steps:

Roughly chop mint leaves.
Puree the mint, blackberries, and sugar in a blender. Press through a fine sieve into a bowl; discard seeds.
Rinse blender, then return puree to blender, and add bourbon and small ice cubes; blend until smooth. Divide mixture among 4 glasses. Garnish each with a mint sprig.
