- Heat the oil in a large saute pan over medium-high heat. Add the onion and cook until it begins to soften, about 3 minutes. Add the garlic, cumin, salt, chile powder and cayenne and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add the chiles, beans and broth and bring to a simmer. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the beans have softened and the sauce has thickened, 5 to 7 minutes. Transfer to a serving bowl and sprinkle with cilantro leaves and Cotija.
SPICY BLACK BEAN DIP
Consistently eaten by the batchful, this dip is meant to be shared. Super easy & very very tasty - the spiciness depends on how much spice you add. I like to serve this with white tortilla chips and strips of sweet bell peppers (the colors look nice together). This recipe is adapted slightly from Lean & Lovin' It! by Don Mauer.

BLACK BEAN SPICY DIP
Yogurt, black beans and salsa..doesn't get any tastier than this. This recipe comes from a Dannon lid and is always a favorite, even for those "tough guys" that don't like yogurt, mum's the word. If your guests really...really don't like black beans, you can substitute refried beans.
