2/3 cup (150 mL) milk
2 tbsp (30 mL) sliced pimiento-stuffed green olives
1 lb (500 g) lean ground beef
1 medium onion, chopped (1/2 cup/125 mL)
1 1/2 tsp (7 mL) minced garlic (from 4.5-oz jar) or 1 clove garlic, minced
1 can (14 oz/398 mL) diced tomatoes with roasted garlic and onion, undrained
1 can (14 oz/398 mL) cream style corn, undrained
1 tsp (5 mL) chili powder
1/2 cup (125 mL) shredded Mexican cheese blend or Cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 400°F. In large bowl, stir Bisquick mix, milk and olives until soft dough forms.
  • In 12-inch skillet, cook beef, onion and garlic over medium heat 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef is thoroughly cooked; drain. Stir in tomatoes, corn and chili powder. Heat to boiling. Pour in ungreased 11x7-inch (2-quart) glass baking dish. Drop biscuit dough by tablespoonfuls over mixture.
  • Bake 20 minutes. Sprinkle cheese over biscuits; bake 5 to 10 minutes longer or until biscuits are lightly browned and cheese is melted.

1 tube (6 ounces) refrigerated flaky buttermilk biscuits
1 teaspoon butter, melted

  • In a small saucepan, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in the water, tomato sauce, tomato paste and pepper. Bring to a boil. 2 tablespoons canola oil
1 cup chopped carrots
1 cup chopped onions
1 cup chopped celery
1 pound ground beef
4 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 cup milk
2 cups beef broth
1 ½ teaspoons garlic salt
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon ground black pepper
1 cup buttermilk
3 cups baking mix (such as Bisquick® Heart Smart Pancake and Baking Mix)

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Spray a glass baking dish (such as Pyrex®) with cooking spray.
  • Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add carrots, onions, and celery and saute until onions are translucent, 5 to 7 minutes.
  • At the same time, heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir ground beef in the hot skillet until browned and crumbly, 5 to 7 minutes. Drain and discard grease.

1/2 cup sour cream

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F.
  • In a large nonstick skillet, brown the ground beef with the onion and green pepper. Drain off any excess fat.
  • Stir in the tomato sauce, chili powder, and garlic salt. Let simmer.
  • Separate the biscuit dough into 10 biscuits; split each in half. Press 10 biscuit halves over the bottom of an ungreased 8-inch or 9-inch square baking pan.

1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Steps:

  • In 10-inch skillet over medium-high heat, cook beef until browned, stirring to separate meat. Spoon off fat.
  • Stir in soups, water, mixed vegetables and Worcestershire sauce. Spoon into 3-quart baking dish. Bake at 400 for 10 minutes or until hot and bubbling. Meanwhile, cut each biscuit into quarters.
