THE BEST STEAK MARINADE

- In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients except for butter. Add steaks and marinate in fridge for a minimum of 1 hour and up to overnight.
- When ready to cook, remove the steaks from the fridge and let them sit at room temperature for 30 minutes then pat them dry.
- Place a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steaks and sear until a crust forms and they naturally release from the pan. Flip the steaks once and add the butter. Ad the butter melts, tilt the skillet and baste the steaks repeatedly with the butter until they reach your desired doneness.
- Transfer the steaks to a cutting board, then tent them with foil and let them rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Steps:
- Combine soy, oil, sugar, Worcestershire, garlic, chives, and pepper in medium bowl. Remove 1/4 cup marinade and combine with vinegar in small bowl; set aside.
- Place remaining marinade and steaks in gallon-size zipper-lock bag; press out as much air as possible and seal bag. Refrigerate 1 hour, flipping bag after 30 minutes to ensure that steaks marinate evenly.
- Remove steaks from marinade, letting any excess marinade drip back into bag. Discard bag and marinade. Grill steaks as desired.
- Transfer steaks to shallow pan and pour reserved marinade over top. Tent loosely with foil and let rest 10 minutes, turning meat halfway through. Slice steak or serve whole, passing reserved marinade if desired.
BETTER THAN ANY RESTAURANT STEAK.
I've been told many many times that it is better than any steakhouse, so here you go. Enjoy and pass it on. It works best with Fillet Mignon but you can substitute for a different cut. Please make sure it is LOW SODIUM Montreal Steak Seasoning as the Maggi seasoning contains salt. If you can't find the Maggi sauce, you can also use soy sauce, preferably the low sodium kind.
