Sep 22, 2023 My favorite is René Leibowitz, Royal Philhamonic. It was originally recorded in the 1960s for Reader’s Digest, but it’s absolutely top notch and the sound is excellent; I think Decca did the actual recording. It’s brisk and sounds very modern and he takes all the repeats indicated by Beethoven. They’re important to the structure.
