Sometimes I'll make extra of this comforting, noodle-y supper to guarantee leftovers. It's a great take-along dish for work or school. Trim calories from the entree by substituting ground turkey for the beef and low-fat cheese for the full-fat cheddar. -Tabitha Allen, Cypress, Texas

- Cook noodles according to package directions; drain., Meanwhile, in a large skillet, cook and crumble beef with onion over medium-high heat until no longer pink, 6-8 minutes. Stir in salt, pepper, tomato sauce and water; bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, covered, 10 minutes. , Stir in corn and noodles; heat through. Sprinkle with cheese; let stand, covered, until cheese is melted.

- Cook noodles according to package directions.
- Cook beef and onion until meat is no longer pink and drain.
- Add tomato sauce and water and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat, cover and cook for 8 minutes.
- Drain the noodles and add to beef mixture.
- Mix in the corn, salt and pepper.
- Sprinkle with cheese, cover and cook until heated through and cheese is melted.

HAMBURGER SKILLET SUPPER
This is something new that our family tried that I got from a magazine. We were surprised that we would all like it so much! It doesn't take very much time at all so it is great when time is limited.

Steps:
- In a skillet, cook beef until no longer pink; drain.
- Add noodles with contents of seasoning packet and water.
- Bring to a boil; cook for 3 minutes or until noodles are tender.
- Add the veggies and cook until tender, about 3 minutes as well.
- Makes about 4 servings.
- Here is another way to do it: Cook the beef as stated previously. During this time, heat up a saucepan of water to cook the ramen noodles in. Rather than just using 1 packet, use 2 packets of the beef flavor ramen noodles. When cooking the noodles, cook them without the flavoring. During this time, (after you drain the ground beef) add the veggies to the meat and continue to cook. As the veggies become cooked, add the two packets of flavoring to the beef-veggie mixture. The ramen noodles don't take long to cook, so be sure to watch them. When they are done, drain them, and add them to the beef-veggie mixture. The completed dish will have more flavor, and more noodles for the noodle lovers! Enjoy!

In a skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat; cook steak to desired doneness (for medium-rare, a thermometer should read 135°; medium, 140°), 4-6 minutes per side. This is a casserole made with stew meat and potatoes that I obtained many years ago from a recipe club that I subscribed to and it has become a favorite with our family. Now that my kids are all married they all prepare it for their families. And if you take it to a pot luck, make sure you take a copy of the recipe because someone is sure to ask you for it.

- Melt shortening in large skillet.
- Cook and stir meat and onion in shortening until meat is brown and onion is tenter.
- Add water, heat to boiling.
- Reduce heat, cover and simmer 50 minutes.
- Heat oven to 350.
- Pour meat mixture (liquid included) into ungreased 13x9x2 baking dish or cake pan.
- . Arrange potato slices on meat.
- Stir together soup, sour cream, milk, salt and pepper, and cheese; pour over potatoes.
- Sprinkle with cornflake crumbs.
- Bake uncovered 1 1/2 hours or until potatoes and meat are tender.
