CROCK POT BEEF AND NOODLES
Crock Pot Beef and Noodles is inspired by a classic Midwestern dish. This one is so easy to make using chuck roast and egg noodles.

Steps:
- Season both sides of chuck roast with steak seasoning and salt & pepper. Rub it in well.
- In a large skillet over high heat, add vegetable oil.
- Once oil is heated, add chuck roast. It should make a nice, loud sizzle when you put it in.
- Brown for about 2 minutes, then flip it over and brown the opposite side.
- Brown for a couple of minutes then turn off heat.
- Transfer chuck roast to your 6 quart crock pot.
- Add in diced onion and minced garlic. No additional liquid needs to be added.
- Cover crock pot and cook on low for about 6-8 hours.
- After roast has cooked, pull it out and put it on a plate.
- Begin shredding the beef, taking care to remove any excess fat bits.
- Place the shredded beef back into the crock pot.
- In a bowl, whisk together the water, Better than Bouillon, Worcestershire sauce. Pour mixture into crock pot over beef.
- Gently stir in dried egg noodles.
- Cover crock pot and cook for an additional hour on low until noodles are fully cooked.
- Gently stir once or twice in the final hour of cooking to make sure all the noodles cook evenly and absorb the liquid. If mixture gets too thick and noodles aren't quite done yet, add an additional 1/2 cup of water, gently stir and continue cooking.
- During the last 15 minutes of cooking, stir in the heavy cream. Then serve!

- In a skillet, cook beef and onion until meat is no longer pink; drain.
- Remove from the heat; stir in tomato sauce, sour cream, cream cheese, sugar and garlic salt; mix until blended.
- Place half of the noodles in a greased 13-in.x9-in.x2-in. baking dish; top with half of the beef mixture. Repeat layers.
- Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes or until heated through.
- Sprinkle with cheese; bake 3-5 minutes longer or until cheese is melted.

BEEF NOODLE BAKE (OVEN OR CROCK POT)
This flavorful casserole is a winner for potlucks or just a family meal. I often assemble it earlier in the day and refrigerate. After a late afternoon dance class or basketball or soccer practice, I just pop it in the oven when I get home, make a salad or other veggie to go with it, and dinner's on the table in less than an hour. It's also good with a bit of Italian seasoning mixed in... I recently tried this in the crock pot and it worked quite well. To make it in the crock pot, cook the noodles just until they are ALMOST done so that they don't get too mushy before continuing with the recipe and instead of placing it in a baking dish, spoon the meat/noodle mixture in a 4 qt. crock pot - you can just mix the noodles and the meat sauce all together or layer them as in the recipe. Top with cheese and cook on low for 4 hours. The crock pot I used is one of the newer nesting crocks that come with 3 separate bowls and it tends to cook hotter than my older one, so I cooked it on low for approx. 4 hours on the 2 qt. setting (even though I was using the 4 qt. pot).

- 20 minutes before the meat is finished cooking, bring a large pot of water to a boil. Cook papperdelle according to package directions. Drain and return to pot.
- Shred the beef with 2 forks. Taste and add additional Worcestershire sauce or seasoned salt, if desired.
- Add the beef to the pot of noodles along with the butter and toss to coat, allowing the butter to melt.
