THE BEST BANANA BREAD
We have a lot of requirements when it comes to banana bread and we finally created a recipe that ticks all the boxes. It's moist, tender, a little tangy and perfectly sweet-all around our favorite one. The best part is that it's even better the next day (if it lasts that long). Try toasting the bread and slathering with a little salted butter. We're pretty sure you'll never need another banana bread recipe.

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly butter one 9-by-5-inch loaf pan.
- Whisk together the flour, pecans, granulated sugar, baking soda, cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon salt and nutmeg in a large bowl. Whisk together the eggs, melted butter, buttermilk, brown sugar and vanilla in a medium bowl; stir in the mashed bananas. Fold the banana mixture into the flour mixture until just combined (it's OK if there are some lumps).
- Pour the batter into the buttered pan and lightly tap the pan on the counter to evenly distribute the batter. Bake until browned and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out completely clean, about 1 hour. Let the bread cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then turn out onto a rack to cool completely.

EASY SOUR CREAM BANANA BREAD
This recipe ALWAYS comes through! Everyone always loves it and when I give the bread as a gift, I'm always asked for the recipe! It's easy to make, doubles well AND freezes well! The *secret* to a super moist and flavorful bread is to use the sour cream (generous portions) AND to use very ripe (we're talking black on the outside and super soft and aromatic on the inside) bananas! I make the bread as loaves, large muffins and mini-muffins and each turns out perfectly yummy! Enjoy!

HEALTHIER SOUR CREAM BANANA DATE BREAD
This is my take on healthifying (is that a real word??) the super-popular Recipe #9351. I added dates and eliminated the sugar entirely, swapped out the white flour for whole wheat, and substituted grapeseed oil for half the butter. The result was a super moist loaf that was just sweet enough - the sweetness from the dates and bananas really shone through. It turned out so well I thought I would share.

Steps:
- Grease a 9 inch bread pan with butter, or create a parchment sling and spray with cooking spray. (Full directions in the notes). Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and white sugar. Whisk together until smooth, creamy, and no brown sugar lumps remain.
- Whisk in the sour cream, then add the eggs, one at a time, whisking well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla.
- In another bowl, mash the bananas then whisk them into the sour cream mixture.
- Sprinkle the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon on top of the wet ingredients, then stir everything together until no white remains.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 45-55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs. Note: I usually check the bread at the 35 minute mark. If the top is getting too browned, cover it with foil for the remaining baking time. Allow the bread to cool for 15 minutes before removing from the pan. Cool completely on a wire rack, after you sneak a slice warm from the oven, of course.
