BAKED RAVIOLI CASSEROLE

Store bought cheese ravioli with spaghetti sauce and mozzarella cheese.

1 quart spaghetti sauce
1 1/4 lbs. ground beef
1 14.5 oz. can petite tomatoes
1/2 cup diced onion
1 tablespoon dried basil
1 teaspoon Italian spices
1 clove minced garlic
salt and pepper
26 oz. bag frozen cheese ravioli
2 cups mozzarella cheese

Steps:

  • Brown the ground beef. Add the onion, salt, pepper and garlic. When the onion is translucent add the jar of spaghetti sauce, petite tomatoes and spices. Cook for 20 minutes.
  • While the sauce is cooking add the frozen ravioli to a pan of boiling salted water. When it comes back to a boil, cook for 1 minute more. Drain in a colander.
  • Spray a 9 x 13 pan with cooking spray. Add a little of the sauce to the bottom of the pan. Add the ravioli. Top with remaining sauce. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes.
  • Top with cheese and broil for 5 minutes. Let set 5 minutes before serving.

1 jar Classico Riserva Arrabbiata Sauce
25 oz. bag frozen ravioli
1 lb. ground beef
2 cups mozzarella cheese
1 cup water

Steps:

  • Brown the ground beef in a saute pan. Add the Classico Riserva Arrabbiata Sauce and 1 cup water. Mix well.
  • Spray a 9 x 9 oven proof casserole dish with cooking spray.
  • Spread a thin layer of sauce on the bottom of the dish.
  • Add a layer of the frozen ravioli.
  • Add a layer of sauce.
  • Add half of the cheese on top.
  • Repeat this process ending with the cheese on top.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
  • Let set a few minutes before serving.

3-1/2 cups pasta sauce
2 cups small-curd 4% cottage cheese
4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Minced fresh parsley, optional

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°. Prepare ravioli according to package directions; drain. Spread 1 cup spaghetti sauce in an ungreased 13x9-in. baking dish. Layer with half of the ravioli, 1-1/4 cups sauce, 1 cup cottage cheese and 2 cups mozzarella cheese. Repeat layers. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese. , Bake, uncovered, until bubbly, 30-40 minutes. Let stand 5-10 minutes before serving. If desired, sprinkle with parsley.

2 cups cauliflower florets, chopped
2 teaspoons olive oil
2 garlic cloves, mince
28 ounces petite diced tomatoes with juice
1/2 teaspoon italian seasoning
1 cup fat free mozzarella cheese
2 tablespoons parmesan cheese, grated

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 400°F.
  • Spray a 1-quart baking dish with cooking spray.
  • Bring a large pan of water to a boil.
  • Add the ravioli and cauliflower.
  • Boil until the ravioli float to the top, about 2 minutes.
  • Meanwhile, heat oil in a nonstick skillet over medium heat.
  • Add garlic and saute 30 seconds.
  • Add tomatoes and seasoning.
  • Bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat and simmer, covered, 5 minutes.
  • Add pasta and cauliflower; toss to coat.
  • Transfer to the baking dish.
  • Sprinkle with the cheeses.

2 cups marinara tomato sauce - divided
1 pound spinach and cheese ravioli - refrigerated (about 16 ravioli)
2 Tbsp. grated parmesan cheese - divided
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella - divided
a few fresh basil leaves
9-inch round baking dish

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to Bake at 350 degrees F (175C).
  • Pour 3/4 cup of tomato sauce on the bottom of the 9-inch baking dish and spread it evenly in a single layer.
  • Lay the ravioli on top of the tomato sauce, (about 8 ravioli) side by side and fit as many as you can to make the first layer.
  • Spoon about 1/2 cup of tomato sauce over the ravioli. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of grated parmesan cheese, then scatter with 1/4 cup of shredded mozzarella.
  • Next, layer the 2nd layer of ravioli on top, keeping them side-by-side. Cover the ravioli with the remaining tomato sauce, grated parmesan cheese, and shredded mozzarella.
  • Cover with a sheet of aluminum foil. Place the baking dish on the center rack of your oven.
  • Bake for 35 to 40 minutes. Then uncover, and continue to bake for an additional 5 to 10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbling around the edges. Toss some fresh basil leaves on top. Then serve.

BAKED SEAFOOD RAVIOLI

My family loves pasta and we also love seafood so I came up with this for a meat-less dinner during Lent. It kind of tastes like a high end seafood lasagne, but is a whole lot easier (and cheaper!). We love it and hope that you do too. I use the imitation krab meat because that's what's available in my little tiny town but I would imagine that it would be even better with the real stuff!

Number Of Ingredients 10

1 (24 ounce) bag ravioli, cheese filled (frozen)
2 cups alfredo sauce (I use Ragu)
2 tablespoons sherry wine (optional but makes it taste more like a newburg)
2 cups crabmeat, chopped
1 cup shrimp, chopped (I use 1 sm. bag of frozen salad shrimp)
1/4 cup roasted red pepper, chopped
1 teaspoon ground pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt (or to taste)
1 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning
2 cups cheese, shredded (I use cheddar)

Steps:

  • Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.
  • Spray a 9x13 casserole dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  • Cook Ravioli in salted boiling water as directed on bag. Drain well.
  • Combine alfredo sauce, crab, shrimp, pepper, sherry (if using), Old Bay, salt/pepper and 1 cup of the cheese.
  • Gently combine the cooked ravioli and the sauce mixture, trying to not break the ravioli. Carefully pour into the prepared casserole pan.
  • Cover loosely with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
  • Top with remaining cheese and bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes or till the cheese is melted and the sauce is hot and bubbley.
  • Prep time does not include boiling the ravioli. Hope you enjoy!
