MEXICAN MARGARITA RECIPE
The creation of the Margarita Recipe cocktail goes back to the year 1942 in a cantina (bar) in the state of Chihuahua, Mexico. It's considered the most popular cocktail in Mexico and you can find it at any bar or restaurant where it's offered as an aperitif. It's usually served in a unique glass.

- Classic Mexican Margarita. We have to start with the OG because, in a sea of pink and orange drinks, you just can’t beat this lime-forward recipe. Served on ice, it’s not the frosty slush you might be used to.
- Tamarind Margarita. Tamarind is used in plenty of cuisines, including Thai, Indian, and Mexican. It’s quite tart, though it sweetens as it ripens. And you’ll find it in concentrate or paste form in most larger supermarkets.
- Grapefruit Skinny Margarita Recipe. This fruity marg has zero fat and only 125 calories. And you can make it even less if you swap the simple syrup for agave.
- Blood Orange Margarita. Here’s another cocktail that’s the perfect blend of sweet and tart. Between the dark color, powerful blood orange flavor, and the tequila, it’s pretty much to die for.
- Pomegranate Margarita. Like the recipe above, the color of this one is what catches your eye first. It’s stunning, right? But where the above recipe is citrussy, this one is berry-luscious and robust.

- Classic margarita. Ahhh, the classic margarita! Think of it as the refined version of the original margarita concocted by Hererra back in 1938 in his Mexican restaurant.
- Skinny orange margarita. Lower in calories than a regular margarita, the skinny orange margarita here is made with agave nectar instead of a higher-calorie orange liqueur (like Grand Marnier, Cointreau or Triple Sec).
- Cranberry ginger margarita. Here’s a wintery twist on the traditional Mexican tequila cocktail. This cranberry margarita recipe blends the salty flavor of tequila with the slightly sweet tartness of cranberry juice – and tweaks it with a kick of ginger beer.
- Frozen mango margarita. Who doesn’t love mangos! They make some of the best Mexican margaritas. You find sweet ripe mangos everywhere in Mexico. But they’re often hard to find in the grocery store at home.
- Pineapple jalapeno margarita. If you find mango margaritas a little too sweet for your taste, try this spicy pineapple jalapeno margarita. Crushed jalapeno infuses a touch of heat, which tempers the naturally sweet flavor of the pineapple and orange juices.
