Feb 1, 2015 Atwood 8940-iii-DCLP L/D furnace problem. Fan will start, can hear burner ignite, can hear igniter still clicking after it fires, then burner stops and fan keeps running. Tries two more times then stops with a fault code of 3 red flashes then a pause.

Oct 25, 2021 I have a Atwood Model 8940-III-DCLP L/D in my 2014 Jayco that has always performed flawlessly until just recently. When I turn the thermostat on, the fan kicks on and blows for 20-30 seconds. I can then hear the ignitor and gas value kick on and the furnace lights for maybe 2 seconds and then you hear it kick back off.

Nov 6, 2020 1st thought is the thermostat is not sending the correct signal on the wire. Double check any dip switches if your thermostat has them and double check the connection/jumpers required. 2019 ram 2500 crew cab 6.4l hemi. I have the dometic 30,000 btu. It would not start, no sparking for the igniter.

One is that you have a vent closed or plugged. You MUST keep all the vents open and operational. Otherwise the heat backs up in the unit and the limit switch opens up and that shuts the furnace down. The other is some kind of blockage or kink in the ductwork. Check the hoses or floor vents for debris, especiall of the type left by mice.

Mar 2, 2013 The Atwood 8940-III DCLP furnace simply would not even start. Checked the fuse, the reset switch, did the init thermostat, flipped the tanks, still nothing. It does 3 tries of clicking, then it quits with one red led flash error code.

May 19, 2019 Dometic bought Atwood a couple of years ago. I would call Dometic Tech Support and see what they recommend as a substitute -- 800-544-4881. Have all the info from the furnace data plate available as well as the photo of the switch.

There is 24V coming from the thermostat, and there is 120V line voltage. There was nothing going out to the inducer fan. I jumpered the 120V line to the inducer and nothing happened. I spun the motor a bit manually and it started. I replaced the capacitor, though it tested fine.

Oct 31, 2021 I have a 8940-111-ACLC and have a strange starting (firing) issue. This unit sat dormant for about 5 yrs so I removed it and took it to my shop and cleaned and bench-tested it. For the bench test I used the RVs thermostat, and the propane regular/ hoses.
