Ingredients

2 (15 ounce) cans garbanzo beans, rinsed drained
1 golden delicious apple, peeled and chopped
1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
1/4 cup creamy peanut butter or 1/4 cup tahini
3 tablespoons water
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon apple pie spice
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Steps:

In a blender, blend: garbanzo beans, chopped apple, lemon juice, peanut butter, water, salt, apple pie spice and cayenne pepper, until smooth and creamy. Cover and refrigerate up to three days.
Before serving, sprinkle the dip with cayenne pepper.
Serve with apple slices, wheat crackers, and crisped pita wedges.

Ingredients

¼ cup tahini
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
½ teaspoon ground cumin
½ teaspoon salt
¼ teaspoon sesame oil
5 dashes hot pepper sauce (such as Cholula®)
1 (15 ounce) can garbanzo beans, drained and rinsed
2 tablespoons cold water

Steps:

Combine tahini, olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, cayenne pepper, cumin, salt, sesame oil, and hot sauce in a food processor or blender; blend until very smooth, about 3 minutes. Add garbanzo beans and blend for 2 minutes. Add water and blend for 3 minutes more. Chill in refrigerator.
