2 medium apples (peeled and sliced)
¾ cup brown sugar
4 tablespoons butter
½ teaspoon vanilla (divided )
1 teaspoon cinnamon (divided)
6-8 slices white bread
2 eggs (lightly beaten)
½ cup milk
1/3 cup (flour)
optional: powdered sugar

Steps:

  • Add apple slices, brown sugar, and butter in a medium sauce pan. Cook over medium high heat until brown sugar has dissolved and butter has melted. Add 1/4 teaspoon vanilla and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon and reduce heat to simmer. Cook 6-8 minutes longer. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly and thicken while you prepare toast.
  • In a large, wide bowl whisk together eggs, vanilla, milk, and cinnamon. Stir in flour and whisk until smooth. Completely submerge one slice of bread in the mixture, careful to coat both sides. Lift the bread out of the liquid and allow to drip off excess.
  • Cook toast in a large pan over medium heat 1-2 minutes until lightly browned, then flip and cook other side 1-2 minutes. Repeat with remaining bread slices. Generously top toasts with apple-cinnamon mixture. Sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired.

1/4 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons butter, cubed
1 tablespoon corn syrup
1/4 cup chopped pecans
4 slices French bread (1 inch thick)
2 large eggs
2/3 cup 2% milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon salt

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°. In a bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, vanilla and salt; pour over bread. Let stand for 10 minutes, turning once. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine brown sugar, butter and corn syrup; cook over medium heat until thickened, 1-2 minutes. Pour into a greased 8-in. square baking dish; sprinkle with pecans. Top with bread. Bake, uncovered, until a thermometer reads 160°, 30-35 minutes. Invert onto a serving platter. Serve immediately.

12 eggs
1/2 cup almond milk
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp cinnamon
Butter, (or non-stick spray, for the skillet)
12 slices of thick Texas style bread
Apple Cinnamon Filling
1/3 cup pecans, (chopped)
Powdered sugar, (optional)

Steps:

  • In a medium mixing bowl, whisk eggs, milk, vanilla and cinnamon together.
  • In a large skillet, spray with non-stick spray or melt butter over medium/low heat.
  • Dip one piece of bread at a time into the egg mixture and then add it to the skillet.
  • Cook french toast until it is cooked on both sides.
  • Remove from skillet.
  • Add a heaping spoonful of apple cinnamon filling on each piece of french toast.
  • Top with pecans and sprinkle a small amount of powdered sugar over the top and enjoy!

1 cup milk
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1 medium jonathan apples or 1 medium mcintosh apple, peeled and shredded
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
vegetable cooking spray or melted butter
1 loaf French bread, cut into 12 1-inch slices
1/2 cup chopped pecans
2 tablespoons melted butter
maple syrup

Steps:

  • Place eggs, milk, sugar, cinnamon, apples and vanilla in a medium mixing bowl and stir to combine.
  • Mist bottom of a 12-by-8-inch glass baking dish with cooking spray or brush with melted butter. Place bread slices in a single layer in pan. Pour egg mixture over bread. Turn bread slices over to coat other side. Cover pan with plastic wrap and place in refrigerator overnight.
  • When ready to serve, preheat oven to 425°F Remove pan from refrigerator and remove plastic wrap. Sprinkle pecans over top and drizzle with melted butter. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until bread slices puff. Serve with maple syrup.

3 cups peeled cored and finely chopped baking apples (about 3 medium)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F.

5 tablespoons butter
3 large baking apples, peeled, cored, and sliced
1 cup firmly packed dark brown sugar
2 tablespoons dark corn syrup
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3 large eggs
1 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
French bread, cut into 1-inch thick slices

Steps:

  • The day before serving - prepare apples and French toast: In large heavy skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add apple slices and cook; stirring occasionally, until tender.
  • Add brown sugar, corn syrup, and cinnamon to apples. Cook, stirring, until brown sugar dissolves.
  • Spray 9 x 13 baking pan with non-stick spray and spread apple mixture into an even layer.
  • Arrange bread slices in one layer on top of apple mixture.
  • In medium-sized bowl with fork, beat eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until well mixed; pour over bread slices. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight.
  • Next day - preheat oven to 375*. Remove plastic wrap and bake for 30-35 minutes or until mixture is firm and bread is golden.
  • Cool in pan five minutes. Invert serving tray over French toast and carefully turn both over to unmold so that apple layer is on top.

2 each Golden Delicious apples - peeled, cored, and chopped

½ cup unsalted butter, at room temperature

Steps:

  • Spray an 8x8-inch baking dish with cooking spray to coat. Layer 4 slices bread on the bottom of the baking dish; sprinkle with 1/2 of the apples. Repeat layers.

2 (21 ounce) cans apple pie filling
20 slices white bread
6 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk

1/2 cup maple syrup

Steps:

  • Grease a 9x13 inches baking pan.
  • In sm. bowl, stir together first 3 ingredients.
  • Spread sugar mixture into bottom of pan.
  • Spread pie filling evenly over sugar.
  • Layer bread slices on top of filling, pressing down as you go.
  • In med. bowl, beat egg with milk and vanilla.
  • Slowly pour over bread, making sure it is completely absorbed.

1/8 cup butter
1/2 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons apple juice or 2 tablespoons water
2 apples, chopped (granny Smith work best)
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1 pinch nutmeg
1 small handful pecans, chopped
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/8 cup sugar
1 tablespoon cinnamon
1/4 cup milk
1/2 loaf bread

Steps:

  • In a pan- melt 1/4 stick of butter and stir in 1/2 cup brown sugar. It'll make a paste. Once made into paste, add 2 Tbsp apple juice or water a tiny bit of apple juice or water (a couple of tablespoons).
  • While step one is heating, cut two apples. You can cut them as small as you want- but cut smaller watch that they don't get too soft. Add to pan and let cool on low- add cinnamon (I use a lot) to taste and nutmeg (tiny pinch). Chop and add pecans (I just used a small handful).
  • While your apples and pecans cook on low, make your French toast batter. (Mine is eggs, vanilla, sugar, cinnamon, and milk to make it runnier- but I really don't have a recipe for this part. You can use any recipe). Dip your bread on both sides and cook. After all are done- if you have batter left you can tedious and reheat, it makes them crispier.
  • Lightly butter if desired then add some of the Apple topping. If the syrup is too sweet use a slotted spoon to drain from Apple syrup and just put a little maple syrup on with the apples instead.
