Mint Chutney or Pudina Chutney is a spicy and refreshing dip prepared with fresh Mint Leaves, Coriander Leaves and Curd. It is flavored with Garlic and tangy spices & can be enjoyed as a dip along with various dishes like Tandoori Snacks, Samosas, Chaat etc.

1.5 Cup Mint Leaves (Pudina)
1 Cup Coriander Leaves (Dhania)
1/2 Cup Plain Curd / Yogurt
1-2 Green Chillies
3-4 Cloves of Garlic
~1 Inch Piece of Ginger
2 Teaspoons Lemon Juice
1 Teaspoon Roasted Cumin Powder (Bhuna Jeera)
1 Teaspoon Amchur (Dry Mango Powder)
1 Teaspoon Chaat Masala
1 Teaspoon Rock Salt (Kala Namak)

Steps:

  • Combine mint leaves, coriander leaves, ginger, garlic and green chillies and grind them to a smooth paste. Add very little water if required.
  • Beat some yogurt in a bowl and add lemon juice, roasted cumin powder, rock salt, dry mango powder (amchur) and chaat masala.
  • Now add the paste of mint and coriander leaves and beat to mix everything to a smooth paste.
  • Mint chutney is ready. Store it in the refrigerator in a clean airtight container for 2-3 days.

Mint Chutney is deliciously spicy condiment prepared from fresh mint leaves, coriander leaves, ginger and garlic. The garlic and coriander leaves adds additional dimension to its flavor as well as helps bring down strong aroma of mint and making it more palatable. Savor the blissful taste of this Indian chutney by using it as condiment or dip with tempting food dishes like paneer tikka dry, khaman dhokla, samosa, kachori, sandwiches, etc.

Yield 1/3 cup chutney

Number Of Ingredients 9

1/2 cup finely chopped mint leaves
1 cup finely chopped coriander leaves
2 garlic cloves (lasun)
2 green chillies, chopped
1/4 inch ginger piece
1 teaspoon sugar (optional)
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon Water

Steps:

  • Take garlic, chilli, ginger, sugar and salt in a small chutney jar of grinder or food processor.
  • Grind them until medium coarse consistency.
  • Add coriander leaves, mint leaves, lemon juice and 1 tablespoon water.
  • Grind again until desired smooth or medium coarse consistency is achieved. Delicious mint chutney for sandwich is ready.
  • Serve it as condiment or store it in an airtight container in refrigerator to use it as and when required. You can store and use it for up to 3-4 days.

1 tablespoon tamarind juice or lemon juice

  • In a food processor, combine the cilantro, mint leaves, chile pepper, salt, onion and tamarind juice. Process to a fine paste, adding enough water to achieve a thick sauce.
