1 bagel (plain or egg)
1 slice American cheese

Steps:

  • Slice bagel.
  • Place bagel in toaster and toast until lightly browned.
  • Quickly but carefully remove bagel from toaster and place on paper towel.
  • Immediately lay slice of cheese on one half of bagel.
  • Cover with remaining bagel half.
  • Wrap in paper towel for about a minute to allow cheese to melt.
  • Eat while still warm.

NORTHERN OMELET BAGEL SANDWICH

I used to work in a little muffin/bagel shop and this was my absolute favorite thing we sold there. I've slightly tweaked it to my tastes and you're welcome to do the same. My personal favorite is to use Tomato+Basil bagels with this. Also, this is one of the 'chunky' versions of the recipe. If you don't like as much tomato or pepper in yours, don't add it. And if you like your peppers a little softer, precook them a bit before adding in the eggs. Pretty simple.

2 bagels
4 -6 eggs
2 sausage patties
1 small tomatoes
1 small green pepper
2 slices cheese (your choice)
salt and pepper

Steps:

  • Slice bagels, toast and set aside.
  • Place sausage patties in a skillet and cook them on medium head until hot all the way through but not burnt. (If you have microwaveable sausage, that works just as well. Prepare it to specifications.).
  • Take off heat and set to the side.
  • Chop tomato and green pepper, place inside a medium sized bowl.
  • In same bowl, crack the eggs and empty their insides into it.
  • With a fork, whip until everything is mixed and eggs are fluffy.
  • Melt a little butter on the bottom of the skillet and dump the eggs, tomatos, and peppers into it.
  • Cook on medium heat, scraping the bottom occasionally so as not to burn the eggs.
  • When the eggs are done they'll be firm but still a little moist.
  • Place the bottom of one bagel on a plate and set a sausage patty on top of it.
  • Take as many eggs as you want and place them on top of the sausage.
  • While the eggs are still hot, place a piece of cheese on it to melt.
  • Put the top of the bagel on the sandwich and enjoy!

1 bagel (flavor of your choice- I prefer Everything or Egg bagels)
1 egg
1 slice cheese (flavor of your choice- I prefer American)
2 pieces deli ham (any breakfast meat) or 2 pieces Canadian bacon (any breakfast meat)
1 tablespoon butter

Steps:

  • Place bagel in toaster and toast as desired.
  • Over medium heat, fry egg in frying pan.
  • Turn off heat but, leave pan on burner.
  • Place meat on top of egg and then the cheese on top of the meat.
  • Cover with a lid and let the heat melt the cheese.
  • Butter toasted bagel.
  • Place egg, meat, and cheese pile on one half of bagel and top with the other half.
  • Slice in half and enjoy!

1 bagel, split in half
1 -2 egg
1 -2 slice avocado
3 slices sun-dried tomatoes
1 slice red onions or 1 slice sweet onion
1 -2 tablespoon monterey jack cheese, shredded or 1 -2 tablespoon feta cheese
alfalfa sprout (optional)
2 slices cooked bacon (optional)
salt & pepper, to taste

Steps:

  • Split bagel in half and toast lightly.
  • Meanwhile, scramble eggs and cook in a small frying pan sprayed with nonstick cooking spray until done, trying to keep the eggs in one large piece (like for an omelette).
  • Butter bagel if desired and place cooked egg on top of one half.
  • Top with a sprinkling of cheese, a slice of red onion, some avocado slices, and the sun-dried tomatoes; top with bacon strips and alfalfa sprouts if desired.
  • Season to taste with some salt and pepper.
  • Place remaining bagel half on top and cut into two halves.
  • Serve warm.

  • Slice bagel.
