Air Fryer Filipino Pork Barbecue. How to make delicious Filipino barbecue pork on a stick in the air fryer. Just 2 simple ingredients and perfect for quick snacks, light lunch or as an alternative to the barbecue.

400 g Pork Cubes
250 ml Filipino Barbecue Marinade

Steps:

  • Load your cubed pork onto a sheet of silver foil. Add your Filipino barbecue marinade and seal into a foil packet dinner shape.
  • Give it a shake so that the marinade has a chance to spread over the pork cubes.
  • Place in the fridge overnight to marinade.
  • The next day open your silver foil packet and place your pork cubes onto sticks.
  • Place the barbecue pork on sticks back into the silver foil, seal it up and load the packet into the air fryer basket.
  • Cook for 20 minutes at 180c/360f.
  • Loosen the silver foil so that it is like a cooking tray rather than tightly wrapped and cook for a further 12 minutes at the same temperature.
  • Eat on sticks and enjoy!

2 lbs pork, slices
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup banana ketchup
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 head garlic, minced
1/2 cup carbonated lemon-lime beverage (7-up or Sprite)
1/2 cup pineapple juice (optional, if not using, add additional 1/2 cup lemon lime beverage)
2 tablespoons oyster sauce (or hoisin sauce)
1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional)
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 dash msg
skewer

Steps:

  • Cut pork meat into thin and long slices.
  • In a blender, blend together soy sauce, banana ketchup, brown sugar, garlic, lemon-lime beverage, pineapple juice (if using), oyster (or hoisin) sauce, lemon juice (if using), pepper, and MSG.
  • Mix together pork and marinade and keep in the refrigerator overnight.
  • String the pork on the skewers.
  • Place in hot grill, grill approximately 4-5 minutes each side.
  • With the leftover marinade, boil over high heat in a medium pot for about 10 minutes. Strain and serve over hot rice.
  • Note: Skewers can also be cooked under the broiler in the oven.
