Air Fryer Chicken Thighs with Brown Sugar and Spices is such an easy and delicous dish; perfect for your air fryer.

2 Tbsp brown sugar
2 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp chili powder
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp paprika (I had smoked and used it)
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
8 chicken thighs

Steps:

  • Mix together the brown sugar and spices and rub them on the top and bottom of the chicken thighs. I usually put half the thighs into a bowl, shake half the spice mix over them and then turn them to coat on all sides. Repeat with the next half.
  • Place the chicken thighs in the air fryer according to manufacturer's directions for 10 mins at 350 degrees. Using tongs, flip the thighs over and cook an additional 10 minutes or until the thickest part of the chicken reaches 165 degrees.
  • Remove to a serving plate and keep warm.

Air Fryer Brown Sugar Chicken-Last night, I reached into my freezer and grabbed a chicken, cut it up, seasoned it, and my family had a great dinner; today, I am giving you a very easy Brown Sugar Chicken Recipe that can be used with any cut of chicken, whether it tenders, legs, drumsticks, split breast, breast or thighs. It's easy and only requires a few ingredients!

2 pounds cut up chicken (any pieces will work)
2 tablespoons brown sugar
2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Olive Oil Spray

Steps:

  • Then rub the mixture over the chicken, place the chicken into the air fryer basket, spray with olive oil spray, and set the time for 350 degrees F, for 10 minutes, flip the chicken, respray the chicken, and air fry for another 10-15 minutes, until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F.
  • Plate, serve, and enjoy!

This sauce is so sweet and good. I have to admit that I was a bit skeptical when I found out the strange ingredients, but it turned out to be excellent. Serve extra sauce over rice or potatoes. This could also be made in a crockpot if you cook it on low for about 4 hours. Cooking time may vary, so check to make sure chicken is done.

1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
2 tablespoons catsup
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 tablespoons mustard
6 -8 chicken breasts

Steps:

  • Combine brown sugar, butter, catsup, worcestershire, and mustard in sauce pan and heat until butter is melted.
  • Pour sauce over chicken in 9x11 inch pan.
  • Bake, COVERED, at 350 F for 60-90 minutes.

Throw that spiced chicken in the air fryer and it will be crispy, juicy and deliciously done in no time. This recipe gives us just what we're looking for thanks to the traditional elements of Jamaican jerk on dark-meat chicken pieces. A sweet and tangy barbecue sauce adds even more flavor.

Nonstick cooking spray
3 tablespoons dark brown sugar
1 teaspoon ground allspice
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon granulated garlic
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon cayenne
1/2 teaspoon grated nutmeg
2 teaspoons kosher salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
3 pounds chicken legs and thighs
1/2 cup dark brown sugar
1 bunch scallions
3 cloves garlic
One 2-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled and rough chopped
2 jalapeño peppers, stems and seeds removed
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
2 tablespoons tamarind paste (see Cook's Note)
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon kosher salt
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Preheat an air fryer to 380 degrees F. Line the basket with parchment paper and spray the parchment with cooking spray.
  • For the chicken: Combine the brown sugar, allspice, cinnamon, ginger, thyme, granulated garlic, onion powder, cayenne, nutmeg, salt and pepper in a large resealable bag and mix to combine. Add the chicken, in batches if necessary, and shake to coat the pieces completely.
  • Let the chicken rest while you make the BBQ sauce: Place the brown sugar, scallions, garlic, ginger, jalapeños, soy sauce, lime juice, tamarind paste, vinegar, cinnamon, thyme, salt and pepper in a food processor and add 1/2 cup water. Pulse until well blended, making sure the ginger is incorporated. Transfer to a small saucepan and simmer over low heat for 15 minutes to meld the flavors, stirring every few minutes.
  • Place the chicken, skin side down, in the prepared basket, making sure the pieces don't touch (cook the chicken in batches if necessary). Cook for 12 minutes.
  • Remove the basket from the fryer, flip the chicken with tongs, and baste with BBQ sauce. Continue cooking until an instant-read thermometer inserted in the thickest part of a thigh reads 165 degrees, about 12 minutes more. Serve the remainder of the BBQ sauce on the side with the finished chicken.
