BEEF OR PORK RIBS MOP



Beef or Pork Ribs Mop image

This easy rib mop has a little kick and is a great baste for grilled pork or beef ribs. Make it ahead of time to allow the flavors to blend.

1/2 cup water
1/2 cup vinegar
3 tablespoons yellow mustard
3 tablespoons ​ olive oil
1 tablespoon chili powder
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon cayenne

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together water, vinegar, mustard, oil, chili powder, garlic powder, and cayenne until well mixed.
  • Let the flavors marry for a few hours in the refrigerator before using.
  • This mop can be stored covered in the refrigerator for about one week.

2 C tomato sauce
1/2 C water
1/2 C balsamic vinegar
1/3 C agave
1/2 T onion powder
1/2 T garlic powder
1/2 t salt
1 T dijon mustard
1/4 C worcestershire sauce

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a sauce pan and bring to a boil, immediately reduce to a simmer and let simmer for 45 minutes or until desired level of thickness. Stores well in the refrigerator for weeks.

GUAVA BBQ RIBS

1 rack baby back ribs
Creole seasoning
1 (12-ounce) can tomato sauce
1/2 cup guava jelly
1 lemon, juiced
1 tablespoon black strap molasses
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 cup sangria

Steps:

  • Preheat the grill.
  • Season the ribs with the Creole seasoning, to taste. To make the sauce, in a medium pot over medium heat, add the tomato sauce with 1 teaspoon of Creole seasoning. Add the guava jelly, lemon juice, molasses, brown sugar, and sangria. Mix well. Cook for 15 minutes. Put the ribs on the grill. Brush the ribs with the sauce and grill for 10 minutes, then baste ribs again and turn them over. Baste this side as well and grill for 15 minutes. Continue to baste and turn until desired temperature is reached.

1 (8-ounce) can tomato sauce
1/2 cup agave

1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper

Steps:

  • Sauté onion and garlic in oil until softened. Add remaining ingredients and bring mixture to boil reduce heat and simmer 5 minutes. Marinate beef, chicken or pork in sauce. Brush on meat during barbecuing or broiling.

1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 teaspoons Dijon style mustard
dash ground cloves

Steps:

  • Combine all ingredients mix well. Score ham or pork the last ten minutes of cooking time. Spread agave mixture evenly over roast. Bake at 450°F 5 minutes, basting with pan drippings and bake 5 minutes longer.TIP: Drippings may be thickened with flour or cornstarch if desired.

1/4 cup minced onion

2 tablespoons sherry
1 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon coarsely ground black pepper

Steps:

  • Heat oil in medium saucepan over medium heat until hot. Add onion and garlic cook and stir until onion is tender. Add remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil reduce heat to low and simmer 20 minutes. Serve over grilled chicken, pork, spareribs, salmon or hamburgers.
