ZIPPY SPAGHETTI SAUCE
This thick and hearty sauce goes a long way to fill my hungry family. They enjoy any leftovers ladled over thick slices of grilled garlic bread. To make sure I have the ingredients on hand, I keep a bag of chopped green pepper in my freezer and minced garlic in my fridge-always! -Elaine Priest, Dover, Pennsylvania

FRESH TOMATO PIZZA SAUCE
This easy and super-fresh pizza sauce can be made in minutes. Best made at the peak of tomato season, the sauce consists of ripe plum tomatoes blended with a few aromatics. After a quick strain, it's ready to top your favorite pizza dough.

Steps:
- Halve the tomatoes lengthwise through the stems. Squeeze the tomatoes over a bowl or sink to remove the seeds and watery centers. Chop the remaining tomato flesh roughly and transfer to a food processor. Add the oil, tomato paste, sugar, oregano, garlic, 1 tablespoon salt and some pepper and pulse until mostly pureed with some small chunks. Pour into a fine-mesh sieve over a bowl and let some of the watery liquid drain, shaking gently for about 30 seconds to help it out. Pour the tomato sauce into another bowl or jar and use immediately or refrigerate up to 1 day.
ZESTY TOMATO DIPPING SAUCE
This four-ingredient condiment transforms a can of tomato sauce into a zippy, complex dipping sauce with a little help from minced garlic and lemon juice. Serve it with something rich and creamy, like a platter of Spinach-and-Feta Patties or these crispy Salmon-and-Mashed-Potato Croquettes.

ZIPPY SAUCE
This is a spicy sweet tomato chow chow that we make in the summertime with our home grown tomatoes. This goes well as a side to peas and other vegetables and also poured over a block of cream cheese as a spread with crackers.

KIM'S ZIPPY SAUCE
This is the famous zip sauce that goes with steak served locally in Detroit. It really brings out the best in beef, and adds a spicy punch to the flavor.

ZIPPY TOMATO SAUCE
This is one of my adopted recipes. I have not made it yet, so I have not made any changes. The original poster noted in the steps to serve over patties, so I am taking that to mean hamburger patties. I can see using this sauce as a topping to a great meatloaf also.

- In a blender (preferably) or food processor, combine everything but the olive oil. Securely fasten the lid and blend, starting on low and increasing the speed as you are able to gain traction.
- Once the ingredients are mostly blended, start drizzling in the olive oil while running the blender. Blend until you reach your desired consistency (I like my romesco sauce pretty creamy, but you might prefer it with a more chunky texture).
- Taste, and add additional salt (up to 1/4 teaspoon) if it doesn’t quite knock your socks off yet. Serve immediately, or store in a jar in the refrigerator for 7 to 10 days.
