YANN'S HOT DOG CHILI SAUCE

Steps:

• Start with 1 quart of water. Mix all the ingredients together in a large pot. Cover and simmer for 4 to 5 hours. If the sauce becomes too thick, add a little hot water as it cooks. Stir frequently. Place cooked sauce in pint size containers and freeze until ready to use.

AUTHENTIC MIDWESTERN HOT DOG CHILI - HOT DOG SAUCE

Steps:

• Add raw beef to cold water and stir until beef separates to a fine texture.
• Add remaining ingredients.
• Stir and simmer uncovered for at least 3 hours.
• At the beginning of the last hour, pan may be covered after desired consistency is reached.
• Remove bay leaves before serving.

AWESOME HOT DOG CHILI SAUCE

Steps:

• Put all ingredients in pan.
• Do not cook hamburger first.
• Cook all at the same time.
• it makes for a smoother sauce.
• Cook down for 10 to 15 minutes until thickened.
• I enjoy mine with yellow mustard and onions.

DAR'S HOT DOG CHILI SAUCE

Steps:

• In a large saucepan, brown the ground beef, chopping into small pieces.
• While the beef is browning, run the 2 cans of diced tomatoes, juice and all, through processer (you can use canned crushed tomatoes, but do not use the "concentrated" crushed tomatoes).
• When meat is browned, add the crushed tomatoes, garlic, oregano, basil, cayenne and sugar.
• Bring to a boil and then lower heat to simmer lightly, uncovered, for about 30 minutes, stirring often.
• This makes enough for about 36 hot dogs, more or less, depending on how heavily you load your sandwich. You can freeze half for a later use.
