Steps:
- Preheat oven to 325*.
- Mix all ingredients together then turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead well. Roll dough out to a 1/2" thick and cut out 8" squares.
- Place each square on a waffle irom (unplugged) and press down the dough in order to make the waffle impression.
- Place waffles on a greased baking sheet and bake for 1 hour. cool and serve each waffle broken into quarters.
- Store in an airtight container.

Steps:
- Preheat the waffle iron to the regular setting.
- Sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt in a bowl. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, vanilla and 2 egg yolks. Pour over the dry ingredients and very gently stir until halfway combined. Pour in the melted butter and continue mixing very gently until combined.
- In a separate bowl using a whisk (or a mixer), beat the 4 egg whites until stiff. Slowly fold them into the batter, stopping short of mixing them all the way through.
- Scoop the batter into your waffle iron in batches and cook according to its directions (lean toward the waffles being a little deep golden and crisp!). Serve immediately with softened butter and warm syrup.

Every Sunday morning, my mom and I used to get up early and make these wonderful waffles. This recipe has been in the family for years, and I will definitly be passing it down to my children.

Steps:
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together all dry ingredients.
- Separate the eggs, adding the yolks to the dry ingredient mixture, and placing the whites in a small mixing bowl.
- Beat whites until moderately stiff; set aside.
- Add milk and melted butter to dry ingredient mixture and blend.
- Fold stiff egg whites into mixture.
- Ladle mixture into hot waffle iron and bake.
