WATERMELON COCKTAIL WITH GIN AND BASIL



Watermelon Cocktail With Gin and Basil image

Number Of Ingredients 6

1 cup water
1 cup sugar
small bunch of basil
1 small watermelon
1/2 cup gin
over ice

Steps:

  • Put 1 cup water, 1 cup sugar and a small bunch of basil in a small saucepan. Boil until sugar dissolves, discard the basil and chill. Peel 1 small watermelon (3 pounds), and cut the flesh into large chunks. Purée them in a blender until smooth. Pour the purée through a fine-mesh strainer, and discard the solids. Combine the juice with the chilled basil syrup and about 1/2 cup gin. Serve over ice.

This watermelon cocktail is vibrant and refreshing! It's the perfect combination of sweet melon, zingy lime, and gin.

2 cups cubed seedless watermelon
8 ounces* gin
2 ounces lime juice
1 tablespoon simple syrup or maple syrup
1 cup ice

Steps:

  • Chop the watermelon. Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into 6 glasses: the foam will rise to the top. Garnish with a lime wedge if desired.
