Steps:

  • Place watermelon in a blender or food processor.
  • Cover and blend on medium speed until smooth.
  • Place lemonade concentrate and water in a large pitcher or punch bowl.
  • Add watermelon.
  • Mix well.
  • Garnish with additional watermelon if desired.

½ cup water
4 cups cubed watermelon
3 cups cold water
½ cup fresh lemon juice
6 cups ice cubes

Steps:

  • Place the watermelon into a blender. Cover, and puree until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh sieve.
  • Bring sugar and 1/2 cup water to a boil in a saucepan over medium-high heat until sugar dissolves, about 5 minutes. Remove from heat. Stir in 3 cups of cold water and the lemon juice. Divide the ice into 12 glasses, and scoop 2 to 3 tablespoons of watermelon puree over the ice, then top with the lemonade. Gently stir before serving.

1 large or 2 small watermelons
250ml lemon juice (from a bottle or squeeze your own)
100g golden caster sugar
1l bottle soda water
1 lime , cut into slices
small handful mint
crushed ice

Steps:

  • Cut the top off the watermelon and hollow it out using a large spoon, fishing out any pips along the way. Mash the flesh through a sieve into a bowl. Put the flesh in a blender (or use a tall jug and hand blender) with the lemon juice and sugar, whizz to a purée, then stir in the soda.
  • Heap some ice into the hollowed-out watermelon and fill it with the lemonade mixture. Serve the rest in a jug with the lime slices and mint. Have a bowl of extra crushed ice on the side so people can help themselves.

1 (12-ounce) can frozen lemonade concentrate, thawed
1 cup vanilla simple syrup, recipe follows
3 cups water
Ice
In a blender, combine the berries, lemonade concentrate and syrup. Blend until smooth. Pour the mixture into a large pitcher. Add the water and stir, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Pour the lemonade into ice-filled glasses and serve.

5 pounds watermelon (approximately 8 cups cubed)
4 to 6 large lemons (1 to 1 1/2 cups juiced)
1 to 1 1/2 cups white granulated sugar
4 to 5 cups cold water

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Cut enough watermelon to produce about 8 cups of cubes; typically 5 pounds with the rind. A quick way to cube watermelon: Cut the whole melon into quarters. For each quarter, score the fruit's flesh in a grid pattern without cutting into the rind. Starting about 1-inch from the top, cut across the length of the melon to produce cubes, carving the bottom layer off the rind.
  • Blend half of the watermelon cubes in a blender until smooth.
  • Strain the watermelon juice through a fine-mesh strainer to catch the seeds and pulp. Use a spoon to stir the pulp and release more juice. Blend and strain the remaining cubes, then let the watermelon juice continue dripping while you juice the lemons (the pulp will be nearly dry).
  • Juice enough lemons to produce about 1 1/2 cups of lemon juice; about 5 or 6 large lemons. Strain through a fine-mesh strainer to remove pulp and seeds.

6 sprigs fresh rosemary (remove the leaves from half of the sprigs)
8 to 9 pounds seedless watermelon
6 ounces fresh blackberries
1 3/4 cups freshly squeezed lemon juice ((from about 12 lemons))
1 liter chilled club soda or seltzer water

Steps:

  • Make The Rosemary Simple Syrup: Combine sugar, half of the water, and all the rosemary (sprigs and leaves) in a medium saucepan and bring to a simmer over medium heat. When sugar is dissolved, remove from heat, and add remaining water. Set aside until flavor is well steeped (it should have a strong rosemary flavor but not taste bitter), about 30 minutes.
  • Prepare The Watermelon Juice: Meanwhile, cut watermelon rind off and discard, then cut watermelon flesh into 1-inch pieces. Process watermelon in batches in a food processor until very smooth. Fill 1/2 to 3/4 full - it will take about 4 to 5 batches to purée. Be careful to not over fill the food processor, otherwise liquid will overflow. Strain twice through a sieve to remove pulp.
  • Make The Watermelon Lemonade: Place the berries in a large pitcher and smash on the berries with the back of a wooden spoon to roughly break up. Add watermelon juice, simple syrup, and lemon juice and stir to combine. Place in the refrigerator to chill thoroughly, at least 2 hours.
  • For an individual serving, fill a glass halfway with ice, fill 2/3 with lemonade then top with sparkling water, stir to combine, and serve. Or, to serve all the lemonade at once, add sparkling water to lemonade, stir to combine then serve over ice.
