- Preheat a waffle iron to medium-high. Preheat the oven to 200˚F (to keep cooked waffles warm). Whisk together the milk, sugar, vanilla, salt, and eggs in a bowl or baking dish. Soak a piece of bread in the mixture for 2 minutes per side. Lightly brush the top and bottom of the waffle iron with butter. Place the soaked bread on the waffle iron and close gently (don't push down). Cook until golden brown and dry underneath when you lift a corner, 5 to 6 minutes. Keep warm in the oven or covered with foil on a plate. Repeat with the remaining bread. Top the French toast with syrup, raspberries and confectioners' sugar.

- Preheat a waffle iron according to manufacturer's instructions and spray with cooking spray.
- Whisk milk, eggs, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt together in a wide bowl until thoroughly combined. Dip bread slices 1 at a time in the egg mixture, coating both sides completely. Lift bread with a slotted spatula to allow excess egg mixture to drain back into the bowl. Place dipped bread slices on a rimmed baking sheet and let rest until mixture soaks in, about 2 minutes.
- Place dipped bread in the preheated waffle iron. Gently close the lid without forcing it down. Cook according to manufacturer's instructions until golden brown, 3 to 5 minutes. Repeat with remaining slices.

I have an All-Clad waffle maker, which I love because it has the four wells for French toast, and is on the deeper side, but most likely any waffle maker will do.

Steps:
- Preheat waffle maker on medium-high heat.
- In large bowl, whisk the eggs until frothy. Add the milk, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and brown sugar and whisk until blended.
- Dip 1 bread slice into the egg mixture and soak, turning once, 20 seconds per side.
- Spray the wells of the waffle maker with nonstick cooking spray or brush with melted butter.
- Place one bread slice in each well of the waffle maker and close the lid.
- Cook the bread until golden brown and crisp, about 7 minutes.
- Transfer the French toast to a wire rack set on a baking sheet and keep warm in the oven. Repeat to cook the remaining bread.
- Dust French toast with confectioners' sugar and serve hot with maple syrup.

- In a wide, shallow dish place the egg, ground cinnamon and vanilla extract. Whisk together well then pour in the milk and whisk in. Dip a slice of brioche into this batter, turning to coat, then place into the waffle iron. Repeat with another slice of brioche then close the waffle iron and leave to cook until golden brown (this took 4 minutes for me in the Cuisinart waffle maker). Remove the cooked French toast to a plate and repeat coating/cooking with the other 2 slices of bread.
- Brush the slices of cooked French toast with melted butter/coconut oil and coat in the cinnamon sugar.
