Creamy tuna à la king over toast points or biscuits. Ingredients include white tuna, celery, onion, egg, peas, lemon juice, thyme, and water chestnuts.

3 tablespoons margarine
1 cup (2 stalks) celery (chopped)
1/2 cup (1 small) onion (chopped)
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 dash black pepper
1 cup milk
1 egg (beaten)
1 (10.5-ounce) can cream of mushroom soup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1/8 teaspoon thyme
1 cup peas (drained, canned or frozen)
1 can tuna (white, in water, drained)
3 tablespoons water chestnuts (chopped)
Garnish: Toast points, or chow mein noodles

Steps:

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • Saute celery and onion in margarine until tender.
  • Blend in flour, salt, and pepper.
  • Mix milk, beaten egg, and soup.
  • Add them to the first mixture.
  • Cook over low heat until the sauce is thick and smooth.
  • Add Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and thyme.
  • Lastly, add peas and tuna.
  • Heat and serve over warm chow mein noodles or toast points.

2 frozen puff pastry shells
2/3 cup water
3 tablespoons Homemade Cream-Style Soup Mix
1/8 teaspoon celery salt
1 can (3 ounces) tuna, drained and flaked
1/3 cup shredded imitation crabmeat
1-1/2 teaspoons mayonnaise
1/4 cup sour cream

Steps:

  • Bake pastry shells according to package directions. In a small saucepan, whisk together the water, soup mix and celery salt; bring to a boil, whisking frequently. Add the tuna, crab and mayonnaise; return to a boil. Reduce heat to low. Stir in sour cream; cook for 1-2 minutes or until heated through. Spoon tuna mixture into shells before serving.

  • In a large skillet over medium low heat, cook butter until golden brown. Saute mushrooms until tender. Stir in flour until smooth. Slowly whisk in chicken broth, and cook until slightly thickened. Stir in cream, turkey and peas. Reduce heat to low, and cook until thickened. Season with salt and pepper.

1 small green bell pepper, chopped (1/2 c.)
1 cup sliced mushrooms (3 oz.)
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt

1 1/2 cups skim milk
1 1/4 cups chicken broth
2 (7 ounce) cans tuna, drained
1 (2 ounce) jar diced pimentos, drained
3 cups hot cooked brown rice

Steps:

  • Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Cook green pepper and mushrooms in butter, stirring occasionally, until pepper is crisp-tender.
  • Stir in flour, salt and pepper.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until bubbly; remove from heat.
  • Stir in milk and broth.
  • Heat to boiling, stirring constantly.
  • Boil and stir 1 minute.
  • Stir in tuna and pimientos; cook until hot.
  • Serve over rice.

1 (12 fluid ounce) can evaporated milk
1 (10.75 ounce) can condensed cream of mushroom soup

1 dash hot pepper sauce

Steps:

1 green bell pepper, chopped
½ cup butter
½ cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt

1 ½ cups milk
1 ¼ cups hot water
4 cooked, boneless chicken breast halves, chopped
4 ounces chopped pimento

Steps:

  • Cook and stir drained mushrooms and green pepper in butter or margarine over medium heat for 5 minutes. Remove from heat.

1 cup frozen mixed vegetables
1 package (5 oz) frozen cooked salad shrimp, rinsed, thawed
1 tablespoon Bisquick Heart Smart® mix
1 teaspoon dried dill weed
1/8 teaspoon pepper

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 450°F. In medium bowl, stir 2 1/4 cups Bisquick mix and the milk until soft dough forms. Drop by 6 spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Meanwhile, in 2-quart saucepan, mix remaining ingredients. Heat to boiling over medium heat, stirring occasionally.
  • To serve, split biscuits in half; place on 6 individual plates. Spoon generous 1/4 cup hot chowder mixture over bottom of each biscuit. Top with remaining biscuit halves. Spoon 1/4 cup chowder mixture over top of each biscuit.
