This brownie batter comes from a mix, but the difference is adding rice crisp like cereal and chocolate covered toffee bits. If you are looking for a different brownie to prepare and you don't have a lot of time to do it in, consider these. I usually bake at the minimum time, sometimes less, to get the moistest bar.

1 (21 1/4 ounce) package duncan hines fudge brownie mix
3/4 cup crisp rice cereal
1 cup skor chocolate-covered english toffee bar, cut into bits

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Spray the bottom only of a 9 x 13 pan with nonstick cooking spray, as directed on the package, set aside.
  • Follow package directions to prepare brownie mix for 9 x 13 pan.
  • Spread prepared brownie mix evenly in the pan.
  • Sprinkle rice cereal evenly over the batter, and press lightly.
  • Sprinkle toffee bits evenly over the cereal in the batter.
  • Bake for 29-35 miunutes, or until brownies are set.
  • Cool on wire rack, then cut into 24 pieces when cooled.

The classic combo of cookies and crème gets even better with the addition of toffee-and these fantastic flavors are all wrapped up in a heavenly little brownie cup. Start with Betty Crocker™ Cookies & Crème Brownie Cups, then top with frosting, chopped toffee, a hot fudge drizzle and cookie crumbles to complete this easy, over-the-top treat. Because sometimes life just calls for a decadent dessert!

1 box (13.6 oz) Betty Crocker™ Cookies & Crème Brownie Cups
Vegetable oil and egg called for on brownie cups box
1 bar (1.4 oz) chocolate-covered toffee candy, chopped (1/3 cup)
2 tablespoons hot fudge topping

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350°F (325°F for dark or nonstick pan). Place paper baking cup in each of 12 regular-size muffin cups; spray with cooking spray.
  • Stir brownie mix, oil and egg until very well blended (batter will be thick). Drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls into each cup.
  • Bake 14 to 16 minutes or until brownies are baked through and set along edges. Using spoon, press down center of each brownie to create a well. Cool completely in pan.
  • Remove fully cooled brownie cups from pan. Squeeze frosting pouch (from box) 15 seconds to soften, then cut 1/2-inch tip from corner of pouch. Squeeze about 2 teaspoons frosting into each brownie cup; spread. Top with toffee.
  • Spoon hot fudge topping into piping bag or small resealable freezer plastic bag; cut off small corner of bag. Pipe topping onto each cup, then top with cookie crumbles (from box). Store in airtight container at room temperature.

1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 cup salted butter
3/4 cup granulated sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 eggs
2 cups toffee pieces (home-made butter toffee or store-bought bits)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Sift together flour and baking soda.
  • Cream together butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla.
  • Add eggs one at a time.
  • Add toffee pieces to mixture.
  • Mix creamed mixture and dry mixture together.
  • Use rounded tablespoon to measure dough.
  • Place dough at least 2 inches apart on baking sheet.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes.
  • *If you have time to chill the dough before baking, do so! You will have cookies that are crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside.
