Dark chocolate brownies with walnuts and fudgy cocoa powder - it's so easy to make old fashioned brownies with walnuts! This is the best walnut brownie recipe out there! Try these walnut fudge brownies today!

1 cup salted butter (melted and slightly cooled)
3 large eggs (room temperature)
2 tsp pure vanilla extract
¾ cup granulated sugar
1/2 tsp sea salt
1 cup brown sugar (packed)
¾ cup cocoa powder ((75g))
1 cup all-purpose flour ((128g))
4 oz bittersweet baking chocolate (chopped)
¾ cup chopped walnuts

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F. Grease a 9x9" baking pan with baking spray and line with parchment paper, leaving an overhang over the sides to allow for easy removal of the brownies.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and sea salt until smooth.
  • Add in sugars and mix well.
  • Sift cocoa powder and flour into the bowl and fold with rubber spatula until well combined.
  • Fold in chopped chocolate and walnuts.
  • Add batter to prepared pan and smooth to the edges.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until center is set. (see note)
  • Cool in pan for 20 minutes and then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

STEVIA EXTRACT IN THE RAW® CUP FOR CUP

1/3 cup Sugar In The Raw®
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup low fat buttermilk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup semi sweet chocolate mini chips

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Prepare 8-inch square baking pan with non-stick spray. Set aside. Combine melted butter and cocoa powder. Set aside to cool. In large bowl beat eggs until frothy. Add Stevia Extract In the Raw and Sugar In The Raw. Combine flours, baking powder and salt - add to egg mixture and stir. Add in cocoa mixture, vegetable oil, buttermilk and vanilla. Stir until blended. Stir in mini chips. Pour batter into baking pan and bake at 350 degrees F about 20 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. Remove from oven and cool on rack. Cut into 16 squares and serve.

Steps:

  • Heat oven to 350 degrees, grease a 13x9" pan. Beat butter, eggs, sugar, vanilla in a large bowl. Mix in cocoa, flour, baking powder and salt. Stir to combine. Stir in nuts and chips. Pour into pan. Bake 20-22 minutes.

125 g butter, chopped
90 g semisweet dark chocolate squares, chopped coarsely
90 g milk chocolate pieces, chopped coarsely
1/2 cup raw brown sugar, firmly packed
2 tablespoons honey
2 eggs, beaten lightly
1 cup plain flour
2/3 cup macadamia nuts, chopped coarsely

Steps:

  • Preheat the oven to moderate.
  • Grease a deep 19cm-square cake pan, and cover the base with baking paper.
  • Combine the butter and chocolate in a pan and stir over a low heat until both have melted.
  • Remove the pan from the heat.
  • Add the sugar and honey.
  • Stir in the lightly beaten eggs.
  • Sift the flour.
  • Add the sifted flour and the nuts and gently fold into the mixture until all the ingredients are well combined.
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared pan.
  • Bake in a moderate oven for about 30 minutes - or until the brownies are firm.
  • Cool the brownies in the pan, and cut into squares when cold.

Great when you need a chocolate fix, these brownies are laced with the taste of peanut butter and the crunch of walnuts. Only use a wooden spoon to mix the batter so the brownies are more dense, like a brownie should be! This recipe was a contest entry for RSC #15. Enjoy! ***PLEASE NOTE*** Due to feedback, I changed the cooking time to 25-30 minutes instead of 35-45. I think my oven is a little cooler than what it should be. I usually have to cook things a few minutes longer then listed.

1/4 cup butter, room temperature
1/2 cup peanut butter, room temperature
1 cup light brown sugar
2 eggs, room temperature
1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
3/4 cup walnuts, coarsely chopped
4 ounces cream cheese (melted on a very low setting in microwave or in a double boiler)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 350°F Spray a 9" x 9" pan really well with cooking spray.
  • Add butter and peanut butter to a medium bowl. With a wooden spoon, cream together the butter and peanut butter until smooth. Add the sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Add the eggs, one at a time. Mix well until batter is consistent.
  • In a separate medium bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt. To the dry mixture, add the butter mixture, chocolate chips and walnuts and stir until just combined.
  • With a rubber spatula, scoop batter in the prepared pan and spread evenly. Drizzle cream cheese over top and give a quick swirl with a skewer or sharp knife. Do not over-stir - it looks very nice this way.
  • Bake 25-30 minutes or until brownies are just pulling away from the sides of the pan. Cool brownies on a wire rack about 10 minutes. These brownies are best if refrigerated and served cold.
  • Cut into 16 squares and serve!
