THE ULTIMATE CANDY COOKIE CAKE
The Ultimate Candy Cookie Cake recipe is perfect for Halloween, birthdays or holidays, add your favorite candy to cookie dough & bake into a tasty cake!

Steps:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F.
- Spray a 9 inch round cake pan or pie pan with cooking spray.
- Beat the butter with an electric mixer until smooth and creamy.
- Add the brown sugar and beat on medium until combined well, mix in the egg, egg yolk and vanilla until combined.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, baking soda and salt.
- Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients on low speed until combined.
- Hand mix in the candy with a spatula.
- Press the cookie dough into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 15 minutes.
- Cover with foil, then continue baking for an additional 10-15 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 20 minutes.
- Remove from the cake pan and top with icing, if you'd like.
- Once iced and ready to eat, cut into 8 triangular slices for serving.

I created these after Halloween, when I had way too much candy left over. You can make them with any mini chocolate candy, but if you use peanut butter cups, throw them in the freezer just before unwrapping so the chocolate won't stick to the paper. -Tara John, Plymouth, Minnesota

- Preheat oven to 375°. Place Butterfinger candy bars in a food processor; process until ground. In a large bowl, cream butter and 2 cups ground candy bars until blended. Beat in eggs. In another bowl, whisk flour, baking powder and salt; gradually beat into creamed mixture., Shape into 1-in. balls; roll in remaining ground candy bars. Place 2 in. apart on parchment-lined baking sheets. Bake 8-10 minutes or until tops are cracked., Immediately press a piece of candy into the center of each cookie. Cool on pans 2 minutes. Remove to wire racks to cool. Freeze option: Freeze cookies, layered between waxed paper, in freezer containers. To use, thaw before serving.

Steps:
- Heat oven to 375°F. In small bowl, mix flour, baking soda and salt; set aside.
- In large bowl, beat softened butter and sugars with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon about 1 minute or until fluffy, scraping side of bowl occasionally.
- Beat in egg and vanilla until smooth. Stir in flour mixture just until blended (dough will be stiff). Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
- Onto ungreased cookie sheets, drop dough by rounded tablespoonfuls 2 inches apart.
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until light brown (centers will be soft). Cool 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack. Cool completely, about 30 minutes. Store covered in airtight container.

CANDY COOKIES

- Cover a baking sheet with the foil and lightly coat with cooking spray. Roll out the cookie dough and cut out rounds. Use aspic cutters to cut out shapes within each circle. To make a hanging cookie, punch a hole in the top of each cookie with a chopstick. Place the cookies on the baking sheet and bake as directed. Halfway through the baking time, fill the holes with the crushed candy (do not overfill). Once thoroughly baked, repoke the hole at the top of the cookie. Cool, then thread with shoestring licorice or ribbon.

- Evenly space 2 racks in oven.
- Heat oven to 350º.
- Mix flour and baking soda.
- Beat butter about 1 minute until fluffy.
- Add sugars, vanilla and salt.
- Beat until thick and pale, 1 to 2 minutes.
- Beat in eggs until just blended.
- With spoon, stir in flour mixture, then chocolate and nuts.
- Drop about 2 tablespoons dough per cookie on ungreased cookie sheets, placing 6 on each sheet.
- Bake 10 to 12 minutes (two sheets at a time) until golden brown around edges and only lightly colored on top.
- Switch sheets halfway through baking so they are cooked evenly.
- Cool on wire racks 2 to 3 minutes then move cookies to paper towels.
- Leave on towels for 5 minutes before lifting to wire rack to cool completely.
- Cool sheets before reusing.
- Dough can be refrigerated a day or two or frozen.
