Ingredients

16 tablespoons butter, softened
1 1/4 cups sugar
1 egg
1 3/4 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
3 tablespoons cocoa
1 1/4 cups old fashioned oats
decorative sugar

Steps:

Preheat oven to 400°F.
Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and beat slightly to combine.
In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and cocoa. Add to batter gradually. Then stir in the oatmeal.
Roll cookie dough into balls and then place on baking sheet.
Using a buttered glass dipped into decorative sugars, press lightly to spread into more of a cookie shape. (These cookies spread while baking, so be sure not to crowd the tray.).
Bake in the middle of the oven for 8-10 minutes.
