Number Of Ingredients 11

1/3 cup seedless strawberry jam
8 slices challah or egg bread (1/2 inch thick)
1 cup sliced fresh strawberries
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
5 large eggs
3/4 cup 2% milk
5 tablespoons maple syrup, divided
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
8 fresh strawberries, halved
Additional maple syrup and sliced fresh strawberries

Steps:

  • Spread jam over four slices of bread. Top with sliced strawberries; sprinkle with cinnamon. Spread peanut butter over remaining bread; place over top., Lightly grease a griddle; heat over medium heat. In a shallow bowl, whisk eggs, milk, 3 tablespoon syrup and vanilla until blended. Dip both sides of sandwiches in egg mixture, allowing each side to soak 10 seconds. Place sandwiches on griddle; toast 3-4 minutes on each side or until golden brown., Transfer sandwiches to a cutting board; brush sandwiches with remaining syrup. Cut sandwiches into quarters. On four metal or wooden skewers, alternately thread French toast and halved strawberries. If desired, serve with additional syrup and strawberries.

3/4 cup peanut butter
12 slices bread
6 tablespoons jelly or jam
3 large eggs
3/4 cup 2% milk
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons butter

Steps:

  • Spread peanut butter on 6 slices of bread; spread jelly on the remaining 6 slices of bread. Put 1 slice of each together to form sandwiches. In a large bowl, whisk the eggs, milk and salt. Dip both sides of sandwiches in egg mixture. , In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Cook sandwiches for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.

8 large eggs, lightly beaten
2/3 cup nonfat buttermilk
Pinch of salt
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 loaf (one-pound) unsliced dense white bread (such as pullman), crusts removed and cut into 1-inch cubes
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/2 pint fresh blueberries
1/2 pint fresh raspberries
2 bananas, sliced
Maple syrup (optional)

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Place a rimmed baking sheet in the oven to warm. In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs, buttermilk, salt, and vanilla. Stir in bread.
  • In a large saute pan set over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons butter. Place half of the bread mixture in pan; cook, turning occasionally with a spatula, until browned on all sides. To keep warm, transfer to the oven. Cook remaining bread in the remaining 2 tablespoons butter as before.
  • Thread bread cubes onto skewers alternating with blueberries, raspberries, and banana slices. Serve immediately with maple syrup, if desired.

12 slices challah bread
1 cup milk
4 eggs
¼ cup white sugar
2 tablespoons raspberry-flavored liqueur
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon vegetable oil, or as needed

Steps:

  • Spread 1 tablespoon peanut butter and 1 tablespoon jam onto one side of each of six bread slices; top each with another bread slice to make 6 sandwiches.
  • Whisk milk, eggs, sugar, raspberry-flavored liqueur, and vanilla extract together in a bowl until smooth. Dip each sandwich into egg mixture, turning to coat both sides.
  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat; cook sandwiches, working in batches, until golden brown, 3 to 4 minutes per side.

1/4 cup creamy peanut butter
1/4 cup grape jelly or jelly of your choice
8 slices sandwich bread
2 large eggs
1/4 cup 2% milk
2 tablespoons butter
Sliced fresh strawberries and chopped salted peanuts, optional
Confectioners' sugar or maple syrup

Steps:

  • Spread peanut butter and jelly over four slices of bread. Top with remaining bread. In a shallow bowl, whisk eggs and milk until blended., On a griddle, melt butter over medium heat. Dip both sides of sandwiches in egg mixture. Place on griddle; toast 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. If desired, top with strawberries and peanuts.
