EMBARRASSINGLY EASY SRIRACHA SALMON

Embarrassingly Easy Sriracha Salmon image

This recipe is so easy, it's embarrassing. Give your salmon a little sriracha swing with just 4 additional ingredients and 10-15 minutes of marinade time.

Provided by Asian Test Kitchen

Categories     Main Course

Number Of Ingredients 5

1 lb salmon (fillet with pin bones removed)
salt to taste (for me this is about 1/2 tsp of pink Himalayan)
1/2 Tb sriracha sauce (or a no sugar added hot sauce)
1/2 Tb lime juice
1/2 Tb honey

Steps:

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Sprinkle salmon with salt.
  • Mix glaze ingredients together and spread on salmon. Let marinate for 10-15 minutes.
  • Bake on an oiled baking sheet for 10-20 minutes depending on the thickness of the fish. It should reach an internal temperature of 145 degrees F.

MASTERS MARINATED SALMON

Masters Marinated Salmon image

Provided by Robert Irvine : Food Network

Categories     main-dish

Time 2h35m

Yield 6 servings

Number Of Ingredients 14

1 mango, peeled and sliced away from the seed
3 to 4 stalks fresh lemongrass, tough outer leaves removed and main yellowish stalk bruised with the side of a knife and cut into manageable lengths (about 2 inches)
1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, stems removed
3 scallions, white and tender green parts only
1 shallot, peeled and quartered
1-inch piece fresh ginger root, skin scraped off with the tip of a spoon, and quartered
1 tablespoon green curry paste
1/4 cup Irvine Spices "Roland" Sriracha Chili Sauce or sambal oelek (chili sauce)
1/2 cup dry Chardonnay
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup orange juice
1/2 cup coconut milk
2 tablespoons olive oil
6 (8-ounce) portions of salmon

Steps:

  • For the marinade: Add 1 at a time through the feed opening of a running blender, the mango, tender parts of lemongrass, cilantro, scallions, shallot, and ginger root until they begin to form a paste. Leave the blender running and through the feed opening add the curry paste and sriracha chili sauce and blend together for a few seconds, then continue by adding the liquids 1 at a time: Chardonnay, soy sauce, orange juice, and coconut milk. Reserve half of this mixture in a small bowl to make into a sauce.
  • Arrange the salmon in a shallow bowl and pour the other half of the mixture over the fish. Cover and let marinate refrigerated for at least 2 hours.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Transfer the reserved sauce mixture to a small saucepan and cook over medium-high heat until it begins to bubble and thicken.
  • Heat the olive oil in an oven-safe skillet and sear each side of the salmon (skin side down first) without disturbing for the first 3 to 4 minutes of sear time on each side. (This allows the surface to caramelize, so the fish won't tear apart when you flip it.) Transfer the pan to the oven to finish the fish - a further 5 to 7 minutes, depending upon the thickness of the fillets. Do not overcook the fish. It is done when it springs back upon being lightly prodded. Use an oven mitt to remove the pan from the oven (that handle will be hot). Transfer salmon to a platter and let rest.
  • Strain the sauce and spoon over the salmon fillets.

SRIRACHA MARINADE

STUFFED SALMON WITH SRIRACHA CREAM SAUCE

Stuffed Salmon With Sriracha Cream Sauce image

Make and share this Stuffed Salmon With Sriracha Cream Sauce recipe from Food.com.

Provided by gailanng

Categories     Asian

Time 50m

Yield 2 serving(s)

Number Of Ingredients 16

1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/4 cup water
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 cup pineapple juice
4 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons honey
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 1/2 tablespoons sweetened condensed milk
1 -2 tablespoon sriracha asian garlic sauce
2 (6 ounce) salmon fillets
2 tablespoons cream cheese
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1/4 cup green onion, thinly sliced
jasmine rice (optional)

Steps:

  • In small bowl, combine cornstarch and 1/4 cup water. Stir to dissolve cornstarch.
  • Combine soy sauce, pineapple juice, brown sugar, ground ginger, garlic powder and honey in small saucepan. Bring to simmer over medium heat. Once brown sugar has melted, add cornstarch mixture and simmer, stirring, until sauce thickens to coat back of spoon. Remove from heat and cool.
  • Once sauce cools, transfer to container or ziptop bag with salmon. Refrigerate at least 30 minutes or up to 24 hours.
  • Heat oven to 400*F.
  • In small bowl, combine mayonnaise and sweetened condensed milk. Starting with 1 tablespoons, add sriracha until desired level of spice is reached. Note: The more you whisk the saucier it will become for drizzling consistency.
  • Line baking dish with aluminum foil and spray with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Remove salmon from marinade and place on cutting board. Carefully slit the side of each piece of salmon, making a long pocket, being careful not to cut through to the other side. Carefully insert 1 tablespoon cream cheese into each pocket and press fish to seal.
  • Place salmon in baking dish and sprinkle each piece with 1/2 tablespoon sesame seeds. Cover with foil and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until salmon is cooked through. Note: In the last 4-5 minutes, you can remove the foil and allow to carmelize under the broiler.
  • Serve salmon drizzled with sriracha cream sauce and sprinkled with green onions (as a serving suggestion, over a bed of jasmine rice).

  • Make the teriyaki marinade by whisking together the soy sauce, water, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, brown sugar, rice wine, and corn starch (use a vegetable peeler to remove the ginger skin and then grate with a fine toothed cheese grater).
  • Cut the salmon filet into four equal sized portions and place in a large zip top bag. Pour the marinade over top, remove as much air as possible and close up the bag. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, mixing the bag occasionally to redistribute the marinade.
  • Heat a large, well oiled skillet over medium/high heat. It’s a good idea to use a non-stick surface here too just to be safe (teflon or well seasoned cast iron). The teriyaki sauce gets thick and sticky when cooked. Once the skillet is hot, add the fish, face down. Cook on all four sides for 2-3 minutes each side or until the fish has reached your desired doneness.
  • In a small bowl, mix together the sriracha hot sauce and mayonnaise. Serve the fish with a dollop of sriracha mayo on top!
